Crysis 2

Nah, I’m sure they’ll go the PC developer route and ship a shitty broken game and patch the fuck out of it resulting in a game that’s ultimately “meh” because it’s first impression wasn’t very good.

Kynna like the first one… Or Gears of War 2.

Whats your point? The sound track is still epic. And I really don’t see that many similarities.

I don’t hear it…

Of course you wouldn’t.

It just doesn’t hit me at all. The same synth orchestra, same percussion samples blah blah blah. I really don’t care.

The only similarities in that is that they use similar instrumental sounds. The crysis songs have a much better flow to them musically, and are more pleasing to the ear. You may not like them because of the style or instruments, but they are much more well composed, regardless.

That amazing race song sounded like a clusterfuck of notes put in to just make it sound like some sort of action scene. And IMO, the format of that song sounds way more like the style of Return to Castle Wolfenstein than Crysis. And RTCW still had way better songs than that.

That being said, there are some segments of that Crysis song near the end that sound kind of bad like that, but the rest of the song overshadows it, and doesn’t really sound like that.

IMO, best two crysis songs:

Shotgun (my fav)

First light (full version)

Something I am afraid of for C2, the music I’ve heard so far sounds a lot like epic music, and that movie-like style that many composers seem to use nowadays. A lot of people like it - I don’t though, I fucking hate it, and I hated the loading screen music from what I heard. I hope the rest of the OST does not sound like that, but that’s just my opinion. I liked it better when games had music that was different from things like movies or TV shows, and more original.

New SP trailer up:

They seem to be advertising the Nanosuit quite a bit.

Looks completely shit, shitty graphics, shitty gameplay even shittier enemies.

mw2 ftw [COLOR=‘Black’]joking :p, looks awesome

Might be too linear, but if it keeps the openness of Crysis it’ll be awesome.

Dude we should totally go comb our soul patches and trade football jerseys. Come over to by house brah, we’ll chug some brewskies and Monsters and Rockstars.

I’m more interested in the inclusion of vertical terrain/ combat. What they’ve shown of it looks fun, but I really hope it’s not all from one part of the game and the rest is just on the street/ in a building.

so this really takes place completely in NY and years later?

WTF!

I thought Crysis was just getting started after the ship sank and we were heading back towards the alien ship and prophet. no? end of game? oh well, guess that will be Crysis 2, can’t wait…

no? they’re just going to skip that whole part?

weak > :frowning:

Where were you for the past year? Everyone knew about that since the game was officially announced.

Basically they identified the story as the weakest part of Crysis (rightly) and took measures to fix it with a complete overhaul.

Sorry, just recently bought a crysis-capable pc, just recently played crysis, was hoping these were just old rumors that had since been debunked.

I disagree there. I found the linear latter sections to be the weakest point by far, with the story pulling a distant second. Sadly, while the story might have been fixed, C2 looks linear as hell. :frowning:

If what I’ve seen is misleading and there actually is a lot of freedom in this one it should be great, but I have my doubts…

I was fine with a lot of the later sections except for the insides of the aircraft carrier. The linearity of the Alien Ship was especially forgivable because the area was just so incredible.

Who says, that there won’t be a introduction in Crysis2, that explains, what happened in that time?

The community manager said it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
