Crysis 2

That’s highly possible, given Crysis’ tradition of having intro videos.

thank you for the information

Well, this is some depressing news for this game. As publicized by the facepunch community, Crysis 2 has been leaked 49 days before release.

The first game was hurt by piracy on release, and now the second game gets leaked fully before its even out. Sure its buggy and assets are missing, but it’s the whole game.

There were some vids on youtube that were removed. I find this to be horrible news, as even if you don’t like Crysis, they still did have strong support for their community, and attempted to make good tools for them to use. The leak even has the editor for C2 apparently.

I find this fucked up to happen to any good developer (ala valve & the HL2 leak) but to have the same dev that, despite all the piracy, actually payed attention to their original PC fans, just to have their game pirated again, before its even released is really messed up.

Here’s a screenshot from the leak on PC:

I started downloading it, then realized that I would become everything I hate if I continued, so I stopped. I can wait a month and a half.

It’ll be a good test of whether its a good game. If it is, it won’t hurt sales badly.

if the game is excellent it might boost sales actually

The problem is if its bad it’ll hurt sales, which they will then blame on piracy, because they are idiots.

OVER 9000!!!

That was 10 days ago.

Get with the times, discuss the leak :stuck_out_tongue:

I like those minimum specs

The question is, how well will it run/look on those minimum settings, I expect it to have a low min because its also on consoles. However I am not sure if it will be forgiving once its turned up a bit on settings.

Apparently, low looks pretty damn good:

Not sure how it runs though. People who played it say it runs pretty good, but this screenshot doesn’t exactly scream performance given the FPS counter.

The leak only plays DirectX9

I have pre-ordered the game, but I downloaded this leaked beta just to get a feel of the game. The controls feel more awkward and less responsive than Crysis, almost as if they were designed for a gamepad (hmph!)
Still, can’t really judge it from this since it’s not the final version

Shame. I feel sorry for Crytek. Now many will make their opinions about the game, with an unfinished beta.

This is terrible. For Crytek and PC gaming.

That’s because they were designed for a gamepad, silly.

I know, that’s what I’m implying :3

This greatly disappoints me as I am an avid Crysis and Crytek fan, but from what I’ve read on the mycrysis forums some people are trying the beta and actually were so impressed that they pre-ordered it. That’s something I guess.

I live in Hungary, here games are considered expensive, so I used to download them first, and if they’re good, I bought them. Now I have a lot of games en retail, Crysis among them.

Also I have to note that in certain cases the very name of the developper is alredy an assurance for quality, like in the case of Blizzard and Valve … in these cases nothing can justify pirateing.
