Crysis 2

“unfinished”

The fact is its only 1.5 months old, and was going to be released for manufacturing in a week. They weren’t gong to change anything massive in it from now to release. Probably just polish, and even then not that much. Controls were probably final.

Still, this is a beta rather than the polished product, and as some assets and stuff are missing there will be people that will assume that the game sucks. Because people are retards.

Meh, it won’t be that many people. And if the game is good the positive reviews will increase sales.

I hope so. Personally I don’t think I’m going to download it. Not because it goes against my morals or whatever (haha, morals) but because I’d rather wait for a copy of the game the way Crytek intended it to be. It’s not too far away, and IIRC they’ll be releasing a demo for PC as well so I could always try that.

It is a damn shame it was leaked, though. Whether or not it will be beneficial to sales is irrelevant as IMHO a company like Crytek deserves better.

If we get a demo I’ll try that. If we don’t, then screw them.

Just remove this…

I hope we still get the MP demo after this. :frowning:

very fun game, I love the new downtown-style setting, the island was always kinda boring

graphics also improved but not at the cost of performance

It’s only DirectX9. So not even 10 or 11.

Whoever thinks it looks shitty, is blind

I got this pic from a PCgame site, I didn’t download the leaked beta.

waits for someone who actually knows this shit to post about how it says dx9, but uses DX10,11 shaders because it’s a dev build

But it’s still not really using the power of DX11 hardware, so without SM4 or 5 support, those shaders are just irrelevant right now.

I am pretty sure there is a work around to get it to work in DX11.

The videos I’ve seen of this game make it look really excellent; a little more linear, but still open enough to provide a lot of options for creativity in combat. Can anyone verify this?

I can’t wait for the release. It looks awesome, although I can’t say that the beta was all that good. I don’t think I’ll be playing the multiplayer that much, unless they add something like the Crysis 1 multiplayer to it.

Of course, I will be getting it for the PC.

Damnit, I can’t playt it; it just feezes at loading screens.

i think if you open system.cfg with notepad and change all the 1 values to 0 especially something with remote in it and has an IP value next to it…

although I wouldn’t know because leaks are ILLEGAL ◎ ܫ ◎

I can, a friend of mine dlled the beta after I mentioned it, and I decided to try it when I was over his house. The gameplay is extremely fun and has a lot of fluidity, something the original lacked. The enemies are more fun to kill too, as they react based on where you shoot them.

I even accidentally punched a guy in the ass trying to stealth kill him and he jumped forward in pain and grabbed his ass (shoot em in the balls, and they grab em when they die lol).

It looks extremely good, even on medium. Medium looks like high in the original, and the anamorphic lens flares are beautiful. The only thing is the textures look a lot worse then the first, but still not bad, not bad at all. Could just be the high textures are missing though, as I saw no difference from medium textures to high when we fiddled around with the texture settings in the console.

in the beta at least the textures don’t scale according to the settings but according to the hardware you are using, thats how old PC’s and consoles get smooth FPS

I have a slow hard drive so when I get to a new part of the map all the textures are extremely low res and then the whole scene looks really sharp in the next frame

Yes, Illegal things are scary. I never go near the stuff. Which is why I am not still waiting for the damn beta to download.

They intentionally leaked this so that they could use it as a excuse to blame it all on the PC community and piracy. Next they will switch to consoles entirely.

IT’S A CONSPIRACY!
