When I read your comments about Crysis being so good or bad I realize that I have never really played Crysis. Maybe because I changed the graphics settings every 20 minutes. I shouldn’t have played it with a 8600gts. Too bad.
Everybody in here either seems to love Crysis, or hate it.
I thought it was alright. I enjoyed it, and finished it. I never had a ‘bloody hell, awesome’ moment though. I also barely played Warhead, as I was sick of the gameplay by the end of the first one.
Still looking forward to Crysis 2 though.
yeah, Crysis was lame, I hope Crysis 2 will be better, also because this time they hired a competent story writer.
The only problem is you’re in the thread for the sequel, where people who like the game are discussing what they want in the sequel, and you are just talking about the previous game and how terrible it is. You can ignore people, ya know.
First game was good. Just like any other game. Sure, it has some repetitive moments, as do ALL games, but overall, It was good. I don’t see how people can dislike it, I could understand why it wouldn’t be your favorite game, but to not like it? Seriously, why even give the second a chance of the first sucked so much? Because it “looks better”? I thought everyone thought the first one looked amazing? Shit makes no sense to me.
Its because of the preconceptions people have when playing crysis. Almost everyone starts playing crysis having heard that it was a graphics whoring game with shitty game play like 9001 times.
When standards are set low what would normally become pleasantly surprised becomes more than that.
People who can’t get past the hate, play the game already disliking it not allowing themselves to like it because of preconceptions of it. Most people who dislike crysis were bias from before they even played the game.
So you’re telling him he didn’t REALLY not like it?
Seriously?
“looks better” as in “looks like a better game”
Graphics aren’t everything.
In fact, I have a feeling Crysis 2 may be better BECAUSE crytek had to limit themselves to console specs. Less time wasted on fluff. Less convoluted controls. Simpler weapon pickup system. “OOOH LOLOLOL ITS SO REALISTIC U GATZ TA LOOOK AT GUNZZZ 2 PUCK IT UPZZZLOLOLOLOLOL… Fuck… It fell in a bush… WHERE THE FUCK IS IT? I’m ALMOST OUT OF FUCKING AMMO AND I CAN’T SEE SHIT!!!”
whoever made farcry 2 should do another of them imo. that game was way cooler than crysis
…
That’s one of the few shooters I actually like LESS than Crysis…
Along with Killzone 2, Arma(II), and Operation Flashpoint and any COD after 2.
What I’m most curious about with Crysis 2 is what they’re doing with the ragdolls. They seem to have improved since the last Crysis, but are they actually interactive now? If not, will Ctek still get butthurt when people re enable them? I hated how in C1, stealth played such a major part but you couldn’t move a dead body out of the way before someone saw it.
I’m also concerned about a possible lack of weapon customization but we’ll see.
i really dug it for some reason
Deadly idling car bumpers?
I’ll admit that would be good for some laughs.
What is convoluted about the controls? The nanosuit controls were integrated incredibly smoothly, the only thing I found the least bit clunky was using ‘x’ to change ammo types in the heat of battle, and that was hardly a big deal. The fact that the controls are being dumbed-down for the sequel makes me nervous.
You found pressing ‘X’ difficult? We are on PCs, we can remap!
It was a response to this part.
I neither love or hate Crysis. It’s a pretty alright game and the gameplay is entertaining, but I didn’t care about the plot and there weren’t many things in the game that didn’t get old after a while.
The main focus of the game were the graphics and nanosuit mechanics but those alone couldn’t help make the plot more interesting and the world more engaging.
Thanks for the tip, I didn’t know that!
But my point was that the controls were generally very good, so I’m not sure where you were going with that.
the weapons are fairly customizable
You said the controls were very good by changing ammo was a little fiddly. I was just saying, it doesn’t have to be.
Far Cry 2 should have been called Pointless African Sandbox Game instead.
I had such high expectations for it but instead I was disappointed.
