Crysis 2

I have to admit, the funniest thing I ever did in Crysis was make a korean shit a brick by throwing a live crab at him.

Another reason Crysis 2 is far worse: Where are the turtles and frogs? I need to destroy local wildlife in my video games.

There were frogs? lolwut

Yeah, highlight of the game really.

Now that I’ve thought about it, I have to say that every aspect of Crysis 2 is worse than in the original Crysis. I can’t think of a SINGLE change that I would consider an improvement; the only thing that comes close to that is a larger choice of weaponry, but even so the fact that you can’t carry 2 primaries and a pistol like in the original is a big drawback.

There’s no awful VTOL level.

The VTOL level was fun to me. It wasn’t too long, it offered variety from the FPS gameplay, and the view from so high up was incredible.

Although, while we’re talking about awful levels, I will admit that the level in the alien vessel with 0 gravity in Crysis 1 was fucking horrible, and a boring pain to play through. Then again, most of Crysis 2 felt that way so nevermind.

I was alright with the VTOL level. I loved the Alien level though. Definetely one of my favorite levels.

Also suit powers are the only improvement, and even those its a mixed bag and not really a universal improvement. I like the city too.

Wow, really? I’ve always thought the VTOL level and the Prophet escort from Crysis were two of the worst levels I’d ever played in a good game. The awful response and aiming in the VTOL made me want to kick an immigrant child. It was good in theory, the execution was just lacking.

Prophet Escort was annoying the first time, but the second time I found it too easy to be annoying, even on Delta.

That is a huge understatement, it was like piloting a ton of fucking bricks.

Is the game really that bad? It looked kinda good. Anyways I was wondering if anyone quickly tell me if I could get a decent video card with dx11 for $300-$400

Its pretty good, just no where near as good as Crysis.

Also you people suck at piloting video game vehicles. The VTOL was easy.

The game is great, I believe you might be able to get a DX11 video card for that price depending on where you look, I would look on TigerDirect.

Fix’d

i love how everybody is shitting all over crysis 2, when it’s still a very good game.

Played it on a pentium d 2.8, hd4670 machine and it ran great on “gamer” settings while still looking amazing. Personally, i find the art style and animation fluditiy far superior then anything crysis 1 was putting out. Sure, it may not be technically as impressive when it comes to texture resolutions, or water effects, but if that’s what makes a game look good to you, then you’re part of the problem.

The game is also far superior to crysis in story, and gameplay. Sure, it’s made for a gamepad, but it still plays fine on a keyboard and mouse.

Also, anybody else find it ironic that half of these people complaining about how “consoles ruined this games visuals” are the same people who go into other threads and say shit like “graphics don’t make the game!”. Stop being typical pc elitests and try being normal gamers. The game is fine for gamers who are interested in fun games, and not benchmark 2.0.

Also, i have no doubt in my mind that half of the people here pirated this game, which is the exact reason that this game got put on consoles in the end game. It’s ironic, really.

It’s not the fact that people need good graphics, it’s that Crytek promised to favor the PC, but they just gave us a console port instead. Also, graphics don’t make the game, but people had high expectations after the first game, and Crytek didn’t rise to those expectations.

What makes you think it’s a console port? The fact that the visuals are toned down? You think they did that because of consoles? Or do you think they did that because nobody played crysis because their computers simply couldn’t handle it?

Crytek is a business, and they need their game to sell to EVERYBODY, not just the rich hardcore pc kids. Like i said, crysis 2 looks AND runs very well on my older PC, while crysis 1 runs like garbage and isn’t even that visually appealing to begin with due to no art direction.

The only good argument i see is that Crysis 2 was made with simplistic controls in mind, which i fixed simply by plugging my 360 controller into my USB slot.

I know i am coming off as a dick here, but i don’t see people complaining about the valid points (the actual game), just the visuals. If you told me that you hated Crysis 2 because they didn’t develop the characters or atmosphere nearly as well as the first one, then i would listen, even if you’d actually be wrong

“Press Start”

Simplistic controls have definitely helped many games, as long as they’re not taking a complex system and haphazardly mashing it into a small number of buttons. Look at TF2: They have so few controls, that many players don’t even use the Q key, and the E button is used for a voice comm. F, and Shift, don’t do anything. It’s still an amazingly fun game; I would say actually very much because of things like that.

I don’t know about you, but when I see shit like this…

…it makes the game much worse, even if it’s possible on a big keyboard.

Press Start is truly a little annoying, but it’s a bit naive to sum up the game with that. My sole interest in this game is for a fun, replayable singleplayer. If NanosuitNinja can have fun with it, I’ll consider getting it (after the price has come down)
