comparison pictures are so fucking pointless, as if game developers magically introduce higher quality game assets when using a specific console. :hmph:
Since pc gaming I haven’t touched my xbox apart from playing DVDs on my TV.
Pc over Console
1.Better Visuals Graphics etc.
2.Variety of Gaming Pad/Wheels/Keyboards.
3.Generally more refined and a lot more heart usually goes into development.
Plus, people say ‘pc’s are too expensive’ - Yes this is true, because there not just gaming machines, there MUCH more then that.
End.
Anyone who thinks that consoles should be at war at all can go fuck themselves.
If I had a console, it would be PS3. Free online features, Blu-Ray and newer hardware, I guess that’s why. But I have no interest to buy any console at the moment, maybe in the next generation.
I love my PS3, it’s great for watching videos/Blu-ray on my tv, sleek sexy menus and a rechargable wireless controller, but fast forwarding with the analogue is too fidgety IMO.
This^
I’ve never understood the console graphics war. The two look so similar who really gives a shit?
metatartsels are better on my Amiga
Hopefully you realise that metatarsals are a section of the bones in your feet.
Yes, metatarsals. They are hard to model.
Edit:
Seriously though, what do you think danielsangeo really meant?
I prefer playing games on my PC, but I end up playing a lot of modern games on the 360 because they’re the only version that runs properly. The 360 seems to be the console most games are developed on, and then the games get (rubbish) ports to the PS3 and PC.
Please, talk seriously, cause this is bullshit …
I thought the PS3 only had 256. Too lazy to look it up to confirm, though.
I am being serious!! I do prefer gaming on my PC, but some of the big franchises often run better on the 360, e.g. GTA IV (which barely ran on my friend’s PC that could handle Crysis with everything on High settings), COD, FIFA, a lot of driving games (such as Dirt 2). Then there’s the ‘console only’ games that come out on the 360 and PS3, such as Virtua Fighter 5, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Dante’s Inferno. Some of those also work much better on the 360 than the PS3, Bayonetta being a prime example. I wish it wasn’t like this, but the 360 versions often run the best due to the least amount of bugs, and poor optimization on the PC (GTA IV).
TL;DR: games aren’t optimized to run properly on PC, so I use the 360 to make games run well.
Offtopic, I love Bungie, but they are serious trolls when it comes to releasing dev shots of their games. I look at the shots covered in AA and AF at huge resolution…then weep as I realise they’ll never port to PC :’( It’s a crime that engine won’t be seen on our desktops
I prefer PC overall, due to the fact that i can set it up for optimal gaming performance, but don’t forget that majority of the public doesn’t even know what a video card is or how to put it in their computer. So businesses have taken advantage of that thus creating the simplicity of a gaming console, to all you PC gamers that are console haters the world doesn’t rotate around you, not everyone is smart enough or cares enough to buy or build a gaming comp. As far as PS3 v.s. Xbox 360, doesn’t matter everyones starting to do multiconsole ports anyway, But I choose xbox due to it’s fair price and most people have it, not to mention it has a working online service that has little chance of being hacked or shutdown. Though i think that the Pay-to-Play online is utter crap, but I can play with my friends and family, and have fun, so thats all that matters.
TL;DR: Pick the console your friends have or the one you will have the most fun with. (or both)
I know metatarsals are bones. I was being silly with the technobabble. What I mean is that if one console can eke out just a bit higher performance than another console, but the other console has an exclusive game that you want, then get that other console even if it’s not as powerful.
You won’t be counting the polygons on your screen so why do you care if one can display 10 more polygons than yours? Especially if the more powerful system doesn’t have what you want?
Again, if the NES has a superior game, you can have more fun with 8-bit flat graphics than an ultra-rich, progressive-scan normal-mapped extravaganza. If you don’t have any fun with the latter, what’s the point?
you’re not supposed to sit 30 cm away from the screen.
That’s the whole trick.
Plus you get used to it with time as you stop noticing all the jaggedy stuff and focus on specular surfaces… The further you are from the screen, the faster it happens.
