Black-Aperture Update

I know that this site is not necessarily linked to HL3, but they recently changed the site from its straight black screen to whatever this is. I cant quite make out what the left most ‘dot’ is. Im curious as to your thoughts.

Alright, you got me, I made that site and it has indeed nothing to do with HL3 or Valve in any way.

Anyway, this most recent change represents how fucking obsessed people are with Half-Life that they feel compelled to scrap the bottom of the barrel by creating or following clearly fake ARG sites in the hopes of keeping their obsession alive and unhealthy.

The dot represents togetherness.

Here it is blown up:

Looks like an 8 at the beginning and a 5 at the end.

8-5 = 3 so that means Half-Life 3. Obviously, of course.

The 5 could be a 6 at from what I’m looking at.

What else am I going to do? Get a girlfriend? HA fat chance.

Haha, I didnt post this because I think it is actually from valve. Though, I do want half life very badly. :frowning: I was just wondering. At least, the latest stuff put on this stuff was interesting even if it wasnt from valve. I asked for your thoughts politely, not “WHAT IS THE ARG AND WUT DOES IT MEAN?!?”

On 8/5 comes the 3

Get pumped. Now.

And then Gabe confirms the site to be real and we all go 'oh, Valve~!"
And he says “For L4D3!”

FYI, Marc Laidlaw emailed a dude on the Steam forums today and basically said to stop looking for hints and wait for a press release. So we can all stop gouging our nuts about tiny “hints” and relax.

It’s been so long since episode 2 that I kinda stopped believing in the existance of episode 3. Valve are a tight lipped bunch…

Also… A bit off topic I guess, but I never understood all the hype about a Half Life 3. As far as I know, no Half Life 3 has ever been announced to be under development, and even if it is, it’s probably gonna be 12 years in development ._.

that makes about 7 of us :stuck_out_tongue:

I had one…

Make that 8

I think the consensus is, and I may be wrong on this, that there is not going to be an EP3 and that the next HL will be HL3. I don’t know if that’s officially confirmed or not, as I said, it’s just the consensus. Someone who follows the news more can maybe confirm this with a little more reputable evidence.

I’m assuming that they’re working on HL3. Demand for an HL sequel is massive and not only is Valve interested in producing spectacular games, which HL3 most certainly would be, they also are a company that wants to make money. Not working on HL3 wouldn’t make much sense. Then again this is all speculation. Maybe they decided L4D 3-12 would be a more worthwhile enterprise and have scrapped HL to focus on that.

I’m thinking they could be working on both Half Life 2: Episode 3 and Half-Life 3. They would then release Xen Box Set with Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 3, Half-Life 3, Portal, Portal 2, Portal 2: Wheatley Returns, Team Fortress, Team Fortress 2, Team Fortress 2: Suddenly Millions of Hats, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Left 4 Dead 2: Zombie Swarm, and Dota 2.

It will cost $200. [COLOR=‘Black’]:retard:

This is precisely the problem. Valve doesn’t say anything, so fans go wild speculating on what the next game will be and what will happen. It’s a mystery. People want to solve the mystery. Valve keeps saying “Don’t be fooled by trolls!”, but it’s kinda their fault for creating the trolls.

holy shart i looked at that website and quickly put my hand to my face making sure i had my glasses on lololol wow that was trippy.

8-5/3 = March 3rd!!!

iWin

5/3 = 1.66666…
8 - 1.66666… = 6.33333…

Or approximately equal to 6.3.

6/3

June 3rd. Or March 6. Or I’m just talking out of my ass.

Which is basically why I always take any kind of information regarding Valve games with a massive grain of salt. Unless that information comes straight from the horse’s mouth of course.

Unfortunately, the only time when a public announcement from Valve is easily understandable and coherent, is when they are debunking rumors.

The fact that they have made a sport out of creating hidden teaser stuff just makes people see it everywhere, even when it’s not there. Anyone remember the Portal 2 teaser pictures hidden away in soundbits on carefully placed radios in the Portal 1 challenges? This is what I mean ._.

Aww, I liked it better when it was “about 7”.

So what it is? We think about HL3 so it can’t be it.

Probably Portal 3 or Left for Dead 3

p.s What about that? https://atramental-plateau.com/

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
