I get to stand in front of 30 other people and state claims against people twice my age – it’s very nerve racking. There is no Google on the stand. You can’t look something up you don’t know. You just stand there in front of 30 people in silence and look like an idiot if you don’t know something. People look you in the eye.

What about the fact that it was going to be an RTS made by the same devs that made a hit revolutionary (and still unique) RTS series and would have probably done a WAY better job than the generic (not gonna hate it for being simple, because that was the point) POS Wars was.
Or the fact that it was going to be 100% open world with (at the time) very advanced AI for controlling different classes of wildlife. Reach brought back some old concepts, but it was too little too late.

Anyway, can’t really say anything about commercial or critical failures this year as there hasn’t been any really. Lowest I’ve seen is a 7.5, and in judgement scale that’s quite above average (5 being the middle point – average) Just wait till summer. When the movie games start rolling in, we’ll have something to populate this list.
I didn’t know that. I Probably would have liked the RTS more seeing as how I was raised with that genre; I usually played Warcraft II, Starcraft, and Dark Colony.

Just because a concept sounds good doesn’t mean it would be executed well. You talk as though it became so much worse even though it could have been a pile of shit without being made linear or a shooter. I can think of plenty of examples of games that people went “oh that’s a great idea this will be great”. The game then came and it sucked shit because it was poorly executed. Sometimes its better to go with something less innovative in favor of better quality. Also no I am not saying Halo is that quality in its current form but it wasn’t bad though.

Dude, I have no idea how you’ve fucked up your halo, but I think there was a patch to fix the active camo effect, aaages ago.
And btw there was a patch last year that meant you didn’t need a CD to run the game, I’d just download/install a copy from anywhere and patch it, boom.
All I know is, high res, tons of texture filtering and maxed out ingame settings, AA and forced pixel shader 2, and it looks alot better than I remember. simplistic level design aside at times.
