Best looking game you've ever played?

Black and White 2

I find Serious Sam HD to be very beautiful.

Zeno Clash has some of the best design of all time, with its colorful and mutated landscape(love the weird weapons too).

Beathazard(test it unless you suffer from epilepsy) and Plants vs Zombies are both beautiful, colorful and charming games.

Fable is one of my favorites to, and of course the old Worms games.

OOH yeah Black and White 2, epic.

Pong.

I think I will change my suggestion once The Last Guardian is released.
That game looks pretty sweet, but can’t expect anything less than EPIC from Team Ico can we? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wow, “epic” really IS the new “x-treme”. And even MORE annoying!

I always found Parappa the Rapper to be visually pleasing.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention Street Fighter IV. I love the style of the artwork and the little effects you can apply on the PC version just makes it all the more awesome.

Tons of nostalgia + amazing artwork and gameplay = :awesome:.

Now that I think of it BM will (hopefully) be pretty much the same thing

the best looking games for me are:
Condemned
Zeno Clash
Half-Life Series
GoW
Oblivion
Painkiller
Fable
Unreal 1

I cant believe this is a thread about great looking games and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md_8uDtbffQ hasn’t been mentioned. Psychonauts had some of the most awesome looking levels and characters around! (I am the milkman- my milk is delicious)

If I have to read that one more time…

boner acadamdy 6

also i always liked how roller coaster tycoon looked for some reason

WHAT IS THAT FACE SUPPOSED TO BE :what:

Cleft lip smiley.

Caves in Crysis SUCK. The Dear Esther caves are MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

EDIT:
Hell, come to think of it, Episode 2 caves are better than Cry-Caves.

However, I really liked the zero-g aspect of the alien mountain.

Uhh, you do realize the cave you posted a screenshot of is one you don’t go more than 20 feet into, and that’s also a screenshot of low settings right?

The actual levels where there are caves in the game look much better, and it really just depends on the designers level of skill. That cave is an end of level trigger that mainly uses voxels and a couple of rocks, while a detailed crysis caves uses voxels for the base of the layout but a lot of actual rocks to make it up.

The caves in Crysis don’t suck, but the true beauty of the games is found in the outdoor areas and the alien areas. Caves are not terrible, but they are not its strength.

EDIT: Actually, scratch that, they’re awesome, just like everything else.

I thought the art direction in the Panzer Dragoon series was amazing.

They’re not awesome, but they’re not horrible. The Dear Esther caves are better, though.

EDIT:

Screenshot was at highest settings. I didn’t take it-- that info is from the post it was located in.

Here’s a picture deep into the caves (as deep as it gets, right at a major point in the game,); albeit at what seems low settings, the geometry isn’t impressive that all.
