Battlefield 4

I wish people would stop fucking destroying the skyscraper. I admit it was cool the first few times, but the map looks ugly after it falls, and the dust makes it impossible to snipe.

If you’re a fan of slideshows, maybe.

I never said I left it on those settings. I wouldn’t be able to live with anything under 40 FPS, but I did set it that high to see how it looked and take a few screenshots.

I’m actually glad.Snipers always annoyed the shit out of me in Rush & Conquest in Battlefield 3.And most of the time, instead of actually defending, the idiots took a F16 and crahed it just to get a satelite dish.

apparently bf4 is taking optimization-marketing to a whole new level:

before, in bf3, they favored ATI/AMD GPUs over NVIDIA cards (bf3 had atrocious optimization for nvidia GPUs, and only now did they release proper drivers for it)

now they are favoring Win8 users over Win7

there are reports that win8 is running the game very smoothly, whereas win7 users are having major performance issues

its like they are trying to make me cancel my preorder…i refuse to install that fisher-price Operating system

that xbox one cancer rubbed off onto EA after all
buying specific brands of hardware is the new DLC

i really want to love bf4 because it looks like a promising shooter, but EA and their fecal swindling is making it real hard

Believe it or not, there some people who are having performance issues despite having Windows 8 installed.

I believe it’s just beta issues.

EA is selling out to Micro$oft
this is apparent because they will be releasing dlc on xbox one first

xbox one uses windows 8 OS

so i comfirm my point on EA catching the xbox one cancer

so they are favoring the least ideal console, and that will extend to the least ideal OS
a recipe for catastrophe

troubling times for master race

It’s running pretty well for me on Windows 7 64-bit.

I initially had very poor performance / stuttering but that was due to not having updated to the latest Nvidia beta drivers.

well of course you are going to get good performance, you have a gtx 700 series and a core i7 for christ’s sake

I have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

i have gtx 660 (which is a “recommended” spec according to hardware requirements) and amd fx4100 OC’d to 4ghz

i tried both 327.23 WHQL and 331.40 beta drivers, game runs worse than crysis on a potato

and quite frankly, game runs worse (but that isnt saying much since game is already unplayable as is) WITH the beta driver

if they dont patch the beta’s performance soon, cancelling preorder

I ended up just limiting my framerate to 30. Helps stuttering a bit. Not really ideal but it’s better than the stuttering, which makes it pretty much unplayable. Running all high with 150% supersampling and 2x msaa.

Seems performance is a bit of a luck of the draw thing - I’ve seen people with GTX780’s and i7 3960X’s complaining of poor performance, and people with GTX 560’s and Athlon II X4’s (claiming to be) happily running ultra at average 40fps.

Crysis on a potato… my initial experience with that game was a bit like that (6200gt - <30fps at 800x600, options were capped to low and very low, physics couldn’t be enabled without using console commands…).

I have a 560 and I get exactly that.

Be wary of the beta drivers though, I had to uninstall them because they started causing computer freezes, rolled back to latest certified and I’m fine now.

I like the emblem editor for BF4

Difficult to be precise, but you can make a lot

The laws of physics are a bitch, aren’t they?

The laws of Battlefuckup 4 are a bitch, not physics.

The damn skyscraper doesn’t make a single wave even though it falls IN THE FUCKING WATER.

Is there a game you don’t nitpick on? And Battlefuckup? Seriously? That’s the worst one I’ve heard so far.

chinese nazis comfirmed for bf4

What can I say? I’m an asshole. Sometimes.

There are a few games I don’t nitpick about. But that’s because I just don’t have the nerves to keep on nitpicking about them, or they manage to hide their mistakes… sufficiently. (Or in few cases, I just don’t find anything to bitch about. Like Black Mesa.)

And seriously, the whole “balancing” they’ve done after BF3 release? That’s nowhere short of a fuck up.

After having played the beta for a few days, I’m still somewhat on the fence. It’s a lot of fun, to be sure, (though I totally suck) but I’m not sure I want to drop all that cash on the game.

Also, it’s on Origin, which, while I have no experience with outside of this beta, seems to have a lot of bloat. Seriously, to to launch the game from within the client, and it opens your web browser? What’s the point of that? Too much trouble to have a server browser built-in?

Origin is not so annoying if you just don’t buy games from it and ignore it completely.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
