Patch came out today for the beta. Its said to have improved load times but I’m still getting a lengthy initial first map load but the load time between matches improved considerably.
The game also seems more stable and less glitchy graphically.

Also, at Maxey: I suppose the initial load is so Battlefield can load all the resources into your computer, and then when you exit it still has everything ready, just at a sort of standby mode, so when you launch it again it’ll load much faster.
Just had to share this. Not sure what caused it.
Edit: Went away after a restart. If you’re having performance issues (mostly from stuttering) try running in borderless windowed mode. It helped a lot with my stuttering.
Obliteration Mode was just added to the beta. Played a few rounds, it’s pretty fun.
Yeah, it’s very intense. I escaped dying with the bomb by jumping off the skyscraper as I was being chased which was pretty awesome.

i dont trust performance will improve in final product (seeing bf3 was a unoptimized load of ass)
Obliteration is pretty damn fun. I picked up the bomb and suddenly I got a shield of ten teammates protecting me all the way to the bombsite.

My laptop is with Asus repair (over a week now with no information from them) and my desktop is too old, everyone stop making me jealous.
There was another patch that came out today fixing some performance issues. According to my brother, the game is performing a lot better now. I’ll check to make sure that is the case.
If you want to see bitchy Serza in action, sure. I’m willing to launch it once more.
Before you do that, what are your specs? I only ask because I heard that some people are still having performance issues.

patch definitely improved performance, but game is only borderline playable with beta drivers
not really worth the driver installation either since most games i play (ie. CSGO) run better on the latest WHQL drivers
The recent update did pretty well. Getting a pretty solid 45 fps on all high, no aa (or actually ao). Noticed that the cpu and gpu usage were still pretty low though. It’ll probably be better at release.
Edit: Also, there was an enemy helicopter firing on the top of the skyscraper and it took a couple shots but I managed to nail its tail with an RPG. Was pretty satisfying watching it plummet to the ground. It was also funny being on the ground when the skyscraper was collapsing and seeing the dozens of parachutes opening as people jumped off.
Edit 2: Is there a way to bind the screenshot function in the game to a key? I’d imagine it would only work through the config files since the console has no bind function but I don’t know if it would work.
Not a single crippling frame drop since that last update, but the hitreg is still too unreliable to use a semi auto/ bolt action weapon. I’ve never seen more large caliber rounds past through heads like ghosts than in a Battlefield game.
Has anyone noticed any changes with the helicopters? I used to crash them all the time in BF3, but in BF4 I’ve magically got good flying skills?
