Assassin's Creed 3

I bet Lucy will be suck in an animus al la subject 16. Her body is dead but her mind is very much intact sort of thing.

But Lucy was never seen in the Animus on-screen. Unless, of course, they jacked her in like they did with Desmond after Juno used him to stab her. Plus, why should she consider Lucy a threat, anyway? She’s an assassin! She’s one of the good guys. I don’t think Lucy would be a Templar mole, but then again the Templars showed up on the Assassin’s doorstep at the end of AC2. Someone had to have tipped them off…

Oh wait fuck, I didn’t play the “Lost Archive” DLC, evidently… Why the fuck did they put a jaw-dropper like Lucy switching sides to the Templar Order in a fucking DLC that no one played? CUNTS!

So, it’s like, I think I’ll get this $10 bonus from Amazon for preordering ME3, and apparently I could use it to buy downloadable games. I thought about getting AC2 and perhaps skipping the following two games (or, you know, maybe just watch some videos). Would it be worth it? The reviews are abysmal, but mostly because of its DRM and the always online thing. AC3 got me excited about trying out the series

Are you serious? That’s incredibly stupid. Is it free at least?

I love the way it looks, as well as improvements to gameplay, animation and its expansion. My only uncertainty is its setting.

But before everyone labels me as an anti-American, I’d like to say that it just seems a little… obvious. I understand that the story has been leading to this point and the location of the Temple in New York, but it’s just that we all know what New York looks like, the history of the American Revolution and are familiar with the setting; we’ve all seen it in dozens of films.

What I loved about the AC games is that they were unparalleled in their originality and ingenuity, in taking us to places and time periods that weren’t so obvious or well known, engaging with historic characters that no one had heard of and taking part in events that only a well-read historian would recognise.

As much as I’m looking forward to exploring the rooftops of 18th century New York (and I really am), I just wish I could do the same in ancient Alexandria, Baghdad or Kabul, all of which have incredibly old structures, tombs and history that lend themselves so well to the AC world. I understand why they’re changing direction, I’m just saying that I’ll miss the history of it all. Wandering the streets of a city barely 200 years old just isn’t that appealing to me.

Fair enough.

OH NO KERESH I SEE YOU LOOKING AT THIS THREAD YOU’RE NOT GONNA NINJA ME POSTING THE OFFICIAL TRAILER:

beep boop click for youtubes

EDIT: Now that I have actually watched it (yes yes, but you don’t know Keresh) I can only say this: I know Ubisoft’s level of CGI and this was sub-par. Meaning? Pretty sure this is in-game footage. Holy shit.

Odt god.

My pant is covered in white fluid now, brb. Showering.

^ eeegh

Anyway, am I the only one that expected…more from the trailer? It was good, but remember the AC2 trailer?

It’s just a teaser, I’m sure better stuff is coming up in the new few months.

I’m sorry. Couldn’t help it.

But this looks to be the best AC yet. Seriously, I’ve never been excited for an AC game like I have this one.

Now all I need is that COD : police warfare pitch to be picked up, and I won’t have any more game franchises to hate. Besides sports games.

This has me thinking whether the Wii U version will be in any way superior to the other consoles’ version of the game. The Wii U is (when it’s released at least) more powerful than either of the other consoles, but I wonder if Ubisoft will take advantage of that or just give it a poor port. I’m leaning towards them not taking advantage of the extra power. The game will probably still be developed for the 360 and then ported to the other consoles.

Yeah as was said it was just the reveal trailer, I too expect a proper CGI one to roll at E3 or something.

On the issue of the AC sequels &c. I’ve only gotten to 2, and even if AssBro and Revelations seem to be sidesteps more than leaps forward, it’s really okay.

It seems fitting to compare the situation to Grand Theft Auto now, it’s as if Ubi has been taking pages off Rockstar’s book with their franchise nomenclature. You got GTA3, then they put out Vice and San Andreas and once you compare that to GTA4, you can kind of see why the previous two didn’t deserve a number in their name.

You need only put a big fat NUMBER on your franchise once you feel you’ve made major strides from your previous effort, both in terms of gameplay and technology.* If you just want to keep making the same game with iterations be they small or large, just slap a silly subtitle on it. Bam, Assassin’s Creed: Revelationhood. Why’d you wanna do this, well you’d want to wrap up the second act of your convoluted storyline, or you wanna milk the franchise for all its worth cause hey, we got share holders to please here. Or both. You decide.

Either way, Ubisoft clearly feels they’ve succeeded in forwarding the IP to a level worthy of the aforementioned phat THREE, and hell, it looks like they have. They’ve been working on it for quite some time, with a larger budget to boot. Fucked if I care if it’s in 'merica, to be frank, the setting will do nice to force a change of pace to the gameplay - provide much the needed disregard of historical accuracy every AC game comes with as well. Now let’s hope they’ve reinvented their DRM as well. :retard:

*Consider, for example, how every CoD game past 4 hasn’t had a number next to it. It’s always been an appended subtitle and no, putting the number AFTER the subtitle (MW2/3) does not count. Food for thought, eh. (but hey, they’re making Call of Duty NINE guys, that must mean the game’s gonna be MILLENNIA away from what we consider to be good gameplay, we’re not even gonna comprehend it!)

that hurts me.

spoiler alert
https://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Lucy_Stillman

read the first 2 paragraphs, man i hate that shit. why did they make her a double agent, that eats nuts.

I’m pissed because they revealed that in a fucking DLC.

Way to spoil it you fucking dick.

i spoiled nothing, someone else said it in an earlier post.

But they had the decency to spoilerize it

I’m pretty sure most people here were spoilered with that (me included) because we most likely didn’t play the DLC that revealed it.
