This damn thread is derailing.
Is this the part where I am supposed to jump in and say “BACK ON TOPIC!” ?
:s hrug:
IS there any more questions to ask the “Amurican”? I assume this is a thread to ask valid questions about seemingly standard behaviors of the “Amurican”.
I think that all the questions are “Are you as stupid as the stereotypes say?”, and the answer is no, so I’d say we are done.
Why do most Americans feel almighty compared to non-Americans?
I’m talking about the (to us) typical behavior of being loudmouth and plain arrogant when interacting with non-Americans. Obnoxious behavior, if you will.
The “few” (quite a lot, actually, since I work closely with the US branch of my company) Americans I dealt with, all had this “HEY I AM HERE LOOK AT ME AND TREMBLE IN MY PRESENCE, FOR I AM AMERICAN”-vibe going on.
This isn’t a stereotype, it’s an actual conclusion of all the times I had to deal with Americans
Pretty much, it goes both ways.
İt’s okay someone Had to do that
Because, as said before, the idiots leave a larger impression on you than those that aren’t idiots.
It’s like if I summarize every French person as being a rude, uptight, needy prick.

This is why I take offense whenever someone tries to make fun of US citizens as being fat, stupid rednecks, even if they’re just joking, because there are people that actually believe that crap.
I guarantee you: If there was an “Ask a British Person” thread, or an “Ask an Australian” thread, the threads will be FILLED with “Are the stereotypes true?” questions, and they will accuse US as being “stupid ignorant americans” for asking.
Which is also true of any other community. (like the PC and the console community :retard
True.
You should think about that. >.>
Q: what are the current hoops you have to jump through to get guns in the USA?
What hoops?
In America, it’s practically a doorway.
I have. :meh:
Depending on the gun and state you’re in.
Hand guns/concealed weapon permit can require a short class to be taken (depending on the state).
There can be a waiting period from the time you buy the gun to when you actually get the gun.
There is a .50 caliber Barrett Sniper rifle for sale downtown. Permitting I had the thousands of dollars they cost, buying it may not be much of a problem.
I’d buy it - use a credit! Maybe your bank gives you a free gun for opening a new account, as well! You never know when one of those babies might come in handy. Zombie apocalypse is only an “incident” on a hidden secret American military research base away. Mind my words!
“and now dat smilin darkie wants to take ur guns away!!! revenge of da black man i tells ya!!!”
loljk
I don’t know how many hoops you have to jump through, but I’m pretty sure the hoops are everywhere. There are some restrictive laws, but you can often find some easy loopholes around them.
What about New York? Any easy loopholes around that state’s gun laws? :meh:
I haven’t been there, I couldn’t say.
All I know is over the summer I learned of a glaringly obvious loophole in one law that amazed me. Apparently you need a background check to get guns if you buy from a gun shop, but not from a private owner at a gun show. I could only imagine that there are tons more like this.
And here I thought that the ‘debate’ about global warming was an ‘Amurican’-only thing, but I’ll leave the subject there. I won’t make a new thread about GW but if someone else does, I might participate.
Sorry for the derailment.
From what I know gun shows are barely regulated. Of course, I live down in Texas, where you can pretty much get a tank with minimal paperwork.
