Ask an "Amurican"

Well, I heard about this while watching a debate while I was in D.C. between the NRA and… whatever the opposite of the NRA is. I don’t remember him mentioning a specific state so I would imagine that applies to most places.

It’s a little harder in MA. There’s absolutely no way to buy a Barrett here, except the black market.

In Germany, there are thousands of ex-NVA Kalashnikovs, ex-Bundeswehr G3s, old but still working WWII-weapons and many other guns from Belgian gun shows in private hands. There are also specialists who can make decomissioned guns work again.

Gun smuggling is a real problem here. And we have really strict gun laws. But they only work for the obedient.

Which is why they don’t work at all

That’s exactly how WW2 started. Hitler got his hands on a Kalashnikov and couldn’t restrict himself from wanting more.

I think there’s more to it than that.

You’re right, he still peeved about not being accepted into Art School

Ye, back in the days, you started a war over that shit.

These days, kids are too lazy and just settle with killing random people at a school.

I want the old days back :frowning:

South Africa: The most perverted country ever.
Actually, did anyone else notice that Canada is number 9? Actually, Australia is number 8!

Hmmmm…

You did notice that this trend includes sites that fight against child porn, right?

:frowning: …shut up

If I want news on anti-child porn movements, I don’t search “child porn”, personally. I search “anti-child porn movements”.

You’ll get less hits that way.

And this lack of FBI agents knocking on your door will be worth it.

But those FBI agents are so friendly, and always so well dressed. Nice and clean suits them guys have.

And they smell nice.

Not that I would know ANYTHING about big brother paying me a visit

Ok, let me get back on topic. I would like to make a different question than those made so far.

This is about how the Law works in the US. I’ve heard that the Laws in the US varies from state to state. Is it true and to what extent? I’ve heard there are places where even drinking is forbidden, and other places where prostitution is allowed.

I guess I’ve hit some weak points here, but I’m not saying that I’m against this system or in favor to it, this is just curiosity.

There are certain laws that are made and enforced at the federal level, like the voting age, drinking age of 18, etc. However, federal laws can be overridden to some extent by state laws, and state laws by city laws. For example, every state except for maybe 1 has a drinking age of 21. I don’t think there’s anywhere where drinking is forbidden, Prohibition didn’t end so well.

Prostitution is legal in Nevada, but illegal in the city of Las Vegas.

About prohibition of drinking, I saw it on Discovery Channel. It was a documentary telling how the Tennesse Whiskey is manufactured. It is funny, but the city where the distillery is located, Moore County, forbids drinking. So the presenter of the show begged for a sip of the whiskey, but they didn’t let him do it :stuck_out_tongue:

I just found a reference about it in Wikipedia:

Anyway, I made that question because I find it very odd that the state have so many different laws in many key points. For instance, one has death penalty, another one doesn’t.

The prohibition of prostitution in Las Vegas makes total sense, otherwise it would push away tourists, not to mention probably causing public confusion. Imagine a casino with prostitutes, how much confusion it would bring.

EDIT: Nevermind

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
