Ask a Muslim!

 The question that was just asked of you just a few minutes ago!

“Why do you believe, despite extraordinary evidence for it, that humans didn’t evolve from a common ancestor?”

Anthropomorphizing phenomena is a human thing. Let me answer that question by asking you one:

Why must the universe have a “purpose”?

Who wrote that? You certainly didn’t.

What’s the point in saying you support scientific reasoning if you don’t accept that human beings evolved?

shadi, you’re a terrible debater.

I strongly suggest reading “The Science of Discworld I-III”. It might be an eyeopener.

pretty much :stuck_out_tongue: , maybe I should just stick into my basic knowledge, and not delve deeper into subjects that are beyond my knowledge and I should leave it to experts.

p.s am sorry guys I think you should either google the answer yourself or find a better experienced Muslim better than me.

@Soup and the others : the bottom line is…I believe that god created us and I believe in scientific discoveries but to an extent. none of us will convince each other of what we believe in no matter how hard we tried. cause we’re both hard-headed, so lets stick to the topic but with other subjects. like what’s the relation between Islam and science and lets leave “Humans evolved or humans were created” aside for a while, cause Science is not just whether Humans evolved or not…

I’ll answer that with a quote from you earlier:

I suggest getting educated on the subject, because the experts say that we evolved from a common ancestor and have evidence to back that up.

ok, who made these ancestors ?

edit: oh and Navman, this not a debate…it’s not like “Hay, guess what…am right and you’re wrong haha, end of story” am not up for debates there is already a thread about it

Who said anyone made them?

am asking…not challenging

In earth’s primordial soup, as it’s often called, chemical reactions took place. With each reaction there was a tiny chance it would result in life, or a step towards life.
Since there was a very long time for those reactions to take place, it was exceedingly likely for such a reaction to take place eventually, despite the slim odds.

Over millions, nay, billions of years, that first life-like chemical reaction evolved into all the various forms of life known to man, including man itself.

Also,

fixed

thanks for your info, btw I wonder why Christians believe that the earth is 6000 years old ? I mean…wtf, if that was the case what happened to the Dinosaurs and all the other early lifeforms ?! where they new ? xP

That is not a Christian belief. It’s a creationist/intelligent design belief, who are just a small fraction of Christians.
The number comes from adding up all the years of all the events in the bible, or something.

You can’t really criticise them for not believing that if you don’t believe that humans evolved.

here we go again, attacking me nonstop, what I meant that why do they believe the earth is only 6000 years old ?!

oh and Soup what do you believe in ?

I’m not attacking you, I’m making a point - you can’t criticise others for not believing something with strong evidence to back it if you won’t believe something that has strong evidence to back it.

I believe we evolved, since that’s what all the evidence points to.

ok, am not asking whether you believe in God as we know it, like Bolteh do you at least believe in a deity that was behind all of this ?

Really hope no one over reacts over just a question, but does it say anywhere in the Koran that women have to wear head scarfs (or other varying types of head garments).

I have been lead to believe that it doesn’t, but I really want to know for school.

am not really sure, but I do believe it’s written in the hadiths, the scarf is also a cultural thing, but…covering the face and hands is just…weird and unappealing.

I swear it is spelt Qu’r’an?

pretty much yes…
