What kind of discoveries, for example?
clearly you haven’t even bothered to check what “discoveries” have you
There are writings of over 3000 years old (Eastern, can’t remember where/what language exactly) that pretty much describe string theory, if I’m not mistaken. I’d say that’s more impressive (though I don’t know what you’re talking about from the Qur’an).
The qur’an sure has some things in it that were discovered and proven later but it was not meant to be in a scientific way always.
Here is a good example for the theory that time is relative:
"…a Day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon…"22:47
You can see that it is not meant to describe the relativity theory but it says that time can be relative.
There were many incidents in the history that proves us that lots of stuff were discovered more early than we thought. It was an awful job to store or eaven spread information in the past so many things got lost. Too bad that there were some idiots who couldn’t see the real potential of an information and locked them away.
ok here’s “some” examples :
1-the earth being egg-shaped
2-the development of the fetus (described stage by stage).
and here’s a REALLY interesting story about the people of 'aad (قوم عاد) there’s a verse talks about them how they built factories and big cities, yes I do literally mean factories and it explains what they were doing in these factories by trying to achieve “immortality” does that ring a bell ? Gene science anyone ?
EDIT: Screw it
oblate spheroid or prolate spheroid? Its all in the specifics.
Anyway as we are on the subject of astronomy whats your feeling about the current dark ages that Islamic astronomy is in and has been in since 1450.
am afraid I didn’t really understand your question, please explain
@Shadi:

an example of a anti-muslim TV/radio show hosted by evangelical christians in USandA.
Simply out of Curiostity, what would you say to some of their Anti-Islam arguments they bring up (refer to other videos)?
Disclaimer: these in no way reflect my views of Islam on any level- I’m a christian but I know to little about Islam to judge.
Well hmm I was hoping you’d know… some prophet called erm Al-H… something who set back Islamic astronomy by passing a law that saw all mathematics and physics as evil and changed the face of Islam forever.
Had massive respect for Islamic theology until he came along what a douche…
I’d say Islam has fallen since its point of scientific advancement into a force for destruction in the world. Not to say that it can’t be good, so don’t think I’m universally applying such values, but its definitely hurting more than its helping, at least to my mind.
@Blackout when I’ve seen these kind of things for the first time I was really shocked and felt horrible at this bullshit, but since there’s nothing that can be done from my part, I just kinda don’t give a damn about it anymore, but let me say that the Mainstream Media has a BIG role in keeping these kind of hate mongering shows popular.
@Grief Reaper we don’t believe in any prophets after Mohammed, but I know of whom you’re talking about, he’s a wahabi saudi man and actually an Idiot, we usually laugh at the likes of him.
@Someonerandm what kind of scientific advancement that forces destruction of the world ?
indeed
it’s not quite as bad in the UK I don’t think.
Shadi: All the Qu’ranic verses that are claimed to be prognostications about the future (the Earth being “egg?” shaped, for example) are actually evidence of the scientific understanding of the time it was written…or, like Nostradamus’ predictions, can mean whatever you want it to mean. Do you have any specific examples of things that they could NOT know at the time of the Qu’ran’s writing that we know now?
Yeah but but what was his name DUDE after all im as white as the milky bar kid and don’t know his name its been pissing me off all day. Also your just ignoring the fact that he fucked up your history/present so bad… HIS NAME PLOX???
I really forgot his name but I Know the guy you’re talking about, and he hasn’t changed a thing my friend.
@Daniel what about the discussion about the People of 'aad you’re not interested ?
sigh no troll but 1% of the Islamic people have provided their services to the world of science last year, harvard Uni has provided more to science than the entire Islamic population no jk… And you say say the PROPHET im talking about hasn’t changed a thing in the Islamic population…
stop watching fox news and come along and read the “Local” news and newspapers & Magazines
