Ask a Muslim!

Never said that either.

Whenever someone posts a picture of followers of Islam, almost always, you’ll find pictures of protesters of angry people with signs saying things like “Behead critics of Islam!”

I’m trying to figure out how these protesters are any different from the Ann Coulters or Jerry Falwells of Christianity…

They have more influence, I suppose.

Wait, what? A few hundred years in terms of religion isn’t really enough to say that it has problems because it’s younger.

Besides, it doesn’t have its own problems… It has the same problem every religion has: it has a bunch of retards that go extreme on its ass. Those retards can make any religion look bad.

pretty much Indeed, that guy is just simply ignorant

I must say, ul-Qadri’s issued terrorism fatwa brought a smile to my face.

Kudos for using the BBC.

that’s nothing new, at lest for us :stuck_out_tongue: , but am glad that now you know the Idea

Thing is, the Qu’ran is a book that’s open for interpretation (has been mentioned a few times in this thread). Different fractions of the Islam have their own interpretations of the book. So in the end, what makes Al Qaida’s interpretation wrong, and ul-Qadri’s right? What if they’re both wrong?

It’s open to interpretation, sure, but there are some parts that are pretty blatant about killing innocents and whatnot. The al-Qaida say that Western civilians aren’t innocent for whatever reason, but it’s an excuse that’s tenuous at best.

To any muslims, why are you religious in the first place? Childhood indoctrination?

That’s the most stupid question on this thread. No-one’s going to go “oh yeah, I’m only religious because I was indoctrinated.”

I’d like to hear their reasons for being religious. The only religious people I know are religious because they were forced into it as children and for whatever reason still hang on to it. I’d like to know what those reasons are.

Religion makes no sense to me when life could just be the result of chance and our lives mean nothing.

I was given a book as a child to push Christianity on me called “It couldn’t just happen.”. As I grew older I realized it was just a propaganda piece because in reality it could just happen. We as a species know absolutely nothing about life and what the universe really is.

That’s a much better response. My only point was if someone has been conditioned to believe something, they aren’t going to know it (or if they do know it, they’re not likely to still believe it).

When i lost all hope something wonderful happened this is why i’m believing that God exists.

Why do you think that God is responsible for this vague “something wonderful” happening?

Do Muslims consider Allah and the Jewish God to be the same God?
Has this been asked already?

Also what’s your stance on the sect (I think…Sunnis?) who brutally whip and cut themselves to show devotion during certain holidays?

Shi’ats not Sunnies, and I don’t want to get into details on what horrible acts they do.

as for the God thing, we believe that Allah or God as you guys call him, is the god of Judaism, Christianity and Islam and everything else

If it’s the same God, why did he start 3 different religions instead of just one?

He obviously likes to fuck with people.

he didn’t start 3, more like one completes the Other.

I believe you should read this, it might help you
