Ask a Muslim!

You misunderstood. That was about Muslims giving up their religion, not about people who weren’t Muslim in the first place. While I agree even that is quite harsh, it’s a huge difference.

As I understand it, Muslims are in fact required to be tolerant of other religions, or the lack thereof.

Tolerance of non-Muslims is more of political thing in Islam, dhimmi, and it applies mostly to “People of the Book”, aka. Jews and Christians, who were given rights in countries under Islamic rule. I don’t know about atheism though.

Either way, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing in the Qu’ran that requires Muslims to harm non-Muslims in any way.

Well, there is the concept of jihad, which is interpreted by many Muslims (I am not saying majority) as the struggle to persuade others of the Islamic faith, by all means possible. I am thankful that the Catholic Church has given up on efforts such as these. I want to be left alone and free to think of the world as I please.

What?? No way. Its one of the biggest sins to force someone to convert to Islam against their will. What you’re referring to is one’s inner jihad to be a good, practicing muslim and to spread its teachings. If someone doesn’t want accept it, then that’s their decision but they must not be forced.

So, if the son of Muslim parents wants to become an atheist instead of a Muslim, they will accept it for his sake? I somewhat doubt that…

lol @ Islam is a peaceful religion

At least Muslims have the nerve to blow themselves up and actually get involved physically whereas Christians do it from the comfort of their bunker and push buttons to blow up a wedding ceremony.

Oh, wait. :brow:
[COLOR=‘Black’](Note to the uninformed: I was making a sarcastic joke; I don’t believe either is a part of their religion and, instead, is blatantly political)

god…where do you people get this shit from !!!

no one can force you to believe in Islam NO ONE, and no there’s no such thing as kill “Atheists”.

@Jeannotvb either be serious or get out

Basically these people are saying that living in a state run by Shia law would be shit if you weren’t Muslim.

you mean thee “Shi’a” or the Shari’a ?

either way, Shari’a Law doesn’t apply to non-muslims so why would it be shit for them ?

Blargh, that word that everyone uses to describe stonings.

just a note Stoning in arabic = Rejm

Interesting…

I dunno why do you find it interesting but what the hell :stuck_out_tongue:

Why should I? Islamic countries are among the most hostile places on Earth. If you think they’re just as peaceful as lets say, Sweden or Germany - you’re either arrogant to the bone or just plain stupid.

I know there are good muslims, I have nothing against them. From your reaction I will assume that you believe your religion is peaceful - well let me tell you something: IT’S NOT

I agree with Jeannot. if Islam was truly as peaceful as you say, Shadi, then there wouldn’t be so much extremists in your belief.

I don’t expect a guy with your experience to understand us, and it’s funny that you’re telling me that you know my religion better than me

It’s funny how you consider Islam to be the religion of peace, while it clearly has a violent impact on many humans (being Muslim I mean). If Islam is truly such a peaceful religion, then why are there so many muslim extremists all over the world?
