fix’d
Protip: Few of the people who say this actually watch Fox news. I will not say its unbiased, but if you strip away the idiots like O’Reilly, Hannity and Beck, you’ll find that they do have intelligent people on some of their discussion shows. Idiots merely buy into the endless youtube videos of the idiots and neglect that if you go outside of their mainstream shows they have intelligent people there. Its really a very weird dichotomy.
That will be all, and I’m going to say right now most of you have never watched enough of the channel to refute this. Actually do so, then argue it.
Fair enough. I haven’t watched any fox. But I really have trouble trusting anything from a station that is sooo often sooo far off and absurd, regardless of which talk show or program it is.
I watched a lot of Fox News and I definitely dispute that. Even in their “news” broadcasts, they slant right and spew propaganda. You can’t simply “strip away the idiots” either, considering that they’re the reason Fox News has so many viewers.
As an example of the right-leaning of Fox News even in their regular newscasts, check out this snippet of a memo from Bill Salmon, managing editor of Fox News:
"1) Please use the term ‘government-run health insurance’ or, when brevity is a concern, ‘government option’ whenever possible; 2) When it is necessary to use the term ‘public option’ (which is, after all, firmly ensconced in the nation’s lexicon) use the qualifier ‘so-called’ as in “the so-called public option’.”
Fox News can now be called a tv derporation, instead of a corporation.
This is true. I’m just saying I have seen reasonable discussion on there (admittedly conservative), but they usually are on at non-peak times. Their audience is largely there for the idiots.
An update from our favourite TV psychologist:
2 things I’d like to point out:
- I never get angry getting into a parking space, mainly because I’m a decent driver and can do it without any fuss
- I think she’s underestimated how broad the gaming audience is, and is receiving a backlash from a large portion of society. Hence the mix of feedback…
Here’s what I’m seeing: The liberal Democrats complain how conservative Republican FOX News is, and the conservative Republicans complain how liberal the other news stations are. It goes both ways, so shut your traps.
I could care less about FOX, C-Span, CNN, and MSNBC – as I usually never watch them unless I’m at work, because that’s all I’m allowed to have on. But attacking conservative Republicans because they’re conservative and Republican is unacceptable. Everyone is going to have their own viewpoints, and everyone is entitled to that. Just some have enough money to go on television, and tell the whole world how they feel. Once again, this goes for both sides.
Some crack pot is going to go on any station that’ll let them on, and talk about their useless tripe (last I checked, Leiberman showed up on more than just FOX News). I certainly don’t agree with Leiberman’s assertions, as it’s a bunch of bullocks, but I also don’t condone attacking a certain group of people simply they choose to live their life a certain way (this goes for both sides).
As it stands, FOX News as a whole, is not a bad station by any means. There’s some stuff that I find ridiculous, and then there’s other things that I agree with. So what.
At least Fox News doesn’t sit on its laurels and talk about the Egyptian “Crisis” all the time.
Fox News doesn’t even know where Egypt is :retard: .
Edit: And @Above, when Fox bothers to mention the Egypt revolution it’s always saying it’s an Islamic revolt or some shit like that.
@skywalker:
so the egyptian revolution isn’t an important event? okay
and from what I’ve seen (which is only youtube videos), there is a massive amount of ridiculous and false claims on fox
Ummmm… actually it doesn’t go both ways. The problem with your whole idea is that the Republicanss are dead wrong and the Democrats are right; CNN and other news stations can’t even compare to the bias Fox News has. Soooo much of what Fox says is just downright wrong. They pose themselves as providing news, but it amounts to little more than propaganda. Search “Faux News” on youtube and you’ll find countless examples of articles on Fox that weren’t only just biased, but pretty much downright lies.
And yes it is every bit acceptable to attack Republicans because they’re Republicans. Every time one of them goes up to their local polling station and writes down some conservative asshole this country dies a little. I’m not going to just sit there and watch it.
And the shit going on in Egypt is a pretty big fucking deal.
Well, I don’t hate fox… I just hate those particular people.
Thats probably the single best way to skew to the complete opposite of the truth, for almost anything. Considering that a) Youtube is fairly liberal and b) no one would upload moderate videos, the results are less than balanced.
People play Fox for the laughs.
Their idiot to genius level is terribly skewed, but just because they’re biased doesn’t mean everything they say is shit. Every news channel is biased, it’s impossible not to be. It’s just that every major idiot has moved to broadcast from Fox’s newsroom for some reason.
Honestly I don’t see what the big deal about Fox accusing gamers of being rapists is. Rapists make a lot of money right? I mean I don’t like rap music but the Rapists always have big ass houses and shit. Also Therapists make a lot of money too.
The problem is the things on youtube undeniably were on Fox, and it’s just simply unacceptable for a news station, or “so-called” news station to pretty much lie to people, no matter how frequent or infrequent.
you missed my point entirely, so i’ll spell it out for you:
the fact that there is apparently such a huge amount of bullshit and outright lies on there, regardless of there being good things too, makes it a shit station in and of itself
As I’ve said, it depends massively on which show you watch. The best news sources for me are BBC and NPR, so I don’t even watch their news shows. I just watch some discussion shows rarely and they are generally reasonable.
Fox News: We are fair and balanced. We have the right and the far right. Balance!
According to the media, I should be a murderous, cannibalistic psychopath, but I’m not. They just haven’t done any research whatsoever on the subject.
And I don’t watch Fox News or youtube videos of it, so I’ve got nothing to add to the discussion on that front.
