I could be wrong but…
E=mc^2, hence all mass is energy and the other way round. The more energy in the smaller the area, the harder the gravitational pull will be. Gravity is a force just like any other. All forces are created by energy. F=m*a and m=c^2/E, hence Force= c^2 divided by energy (times a). And all actions have opposite and equal reactions. Therefore, when I stand on the earth, it will pull me down, but at the same time a force is pointed upward, or else i would be sucked in to the earth itself.

Also, as was quoted before, the gravity gun is not an electro-magnetic field, cause that would indeed not be able to pick up any non-ferro objects. Dunno bout zero energy though.

In gravitational field the third term will be added.

and in case of electric field, the forth will be add, too.

and so on for magnetic field or somewhat…

EDIT: why is this thread alive again? Thought the op and I concluded this problem solved. As for the whole gravity thing, the point is unrelated to the topic at hand. The name gravity gun is a slang name for it, as made obvious as to how Judith reacts to it being called a gravity gun.

however it may not even use gravity, it could just be a name created by logic such as “oh it pulls objects towards it, kind of like how the earth pulls objects towards it using gravity.”
