All shooters on console are over-rated.
Halo is ok but far from a revolution. The kool-aid drinkers were misled. It was over-hyped to shit by the media. It bought its success via marketing. Had it been a lone pc game (as planned originaly) it would not have been that significant in gaming history.
In other words, microsoft had to piss money away in order for the xbox to have a decent hit.
I mean bungie, who the fuck were they before all this. They were no one! And I’m pretty sure after having left Microsoft’s dictatorship they will continue to be no one. And companies that have a so-so track record, don’t pull a revolution out of their asses. They will milk the franchise until we see how shallow Halo actually is. They have nothing else. They could take a few pointers from Valve.

That’s just silly. The games have to be popular, that’s the point. Many people think Halo is overated, just because you don’t doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

- (I know we all love it, however I have personally heard it called the greatest game ever, of all time, period. That means that to me at least, it is over rated. Here is hoping that Black Mesa changes that.)

- Halo 1 is amazing, storyline, gameplay, everything, it’s an all-round incredible game. Bungie took what they wanted Marathon Infinity to be and dumbed it down to improve game-play over story, they fucked it up big time with Halo 2 and 3. Microsoft saw Halo as being the killer app for Macintosh back in 1999 and stole it for that reason, it is amazing)

Digimon World 1 for Play Station
It was made before the Digimon cartoon series and was based on the Digimon pets, created in Japan before Pokemon was invented, however the international market saw Digimon as a copy of Pokemon and Digimon World was translated lazily and has the international version has the logo of the anime series (Featuring Digimon not in the game), so a lot of people dismissed this. It’s an amazing game, underrated very much so.

- Crysis 1 + Warhead (Graphics imposter)
- Half-Life 1: The sequel is epic and the best game ever made (in my opinion), but HL1 was boring and lacking of good gameplay and story (in my eyes). But I am confident, that Black Mesa will change this (at least the gameplay issue).
- Left4Dead 1 + 2 (boring…in the long run)
- Bioshock (just confusing)
- Counter-Strike (I don’t really get it, why so many people are playing it)
Dude Half-Life 1 has a story… you just have to pay attention and realise whats going on. Gameplay wise Half-Life changed FPS’s for the better when it was released, IN the 90’s! of course now it has gameplay “issues” compared to the games we play now. But back then it was great.

I don’t have to pay attention anymore, because I already did and played the game several times…I know the story inside out! What I was going to say was: HL1 has a story, but it simply isn’t that great in my opinion.
I am not comparing anything! I just said, that I don’t like the gameplay of HL1, because I don’t have fun by playing it, which has absolutely nothing to do with the age (I bought HL1 in 1998!) and that’s it…

I apologize, I suppose I may have misinterpreted you. Usually such complaints are attributed to the aged component of the game. I respect others opinions, I just hate it when people complain about something because they think its obsolete when compared to games running on newer technology. Again apologize as I mistook you for one of those morons I suppose. If you have gripes with HL1s gameplay, that’s fine, I just misunderstood you for hating it because it feels old :[… Dont hate me :’(
