Post you political alignment, why you are part of that group, and discuss political issues.

I’m a Conservative, radical in some ways, and very moderate or completely against in others. I think Conservatives are more realistic than Liberals or Communists/Socialists, but many Conservatives don’t adhere to Separation of Church and State, and I have a problem with that.

From what I’ve noticed, it seems like most of the people on this forum are leftists, so I’ll be expecting a lot of Liberals here.

Explain why you support what parties you do so we can try to better understand each others’ views.

I’m a liberal libertarian, but do not subscribe to any political party. I do not think that conservatives are realistic at all – like communists and socialists, they have a utopian worldview that just doesn’t work in the real world.

I’m an extremist social republican, who believes in slavery and that religion should be part of society. I believe in total capitalism, serfdom, and creationism. I consider all those who disagree with me evil and think that Hitler was right.

I have 2 friends and 4 cousins who think like that. Well except the slavery part. oh by the way I am a human-lover who thinks we should kill all living things we don’t need.

Lots of political threads up this week. My fault I guess since I started it.

My views and votes generally swing towards the left, but that’s only because I don’t feel like being stoned to death. Life is hard enough honestly without the one size fits all republican agenda trying to tell me that my lifestyle is a choice and I should have to pay for it with my rights.

That is not the only issue I vote on though, but it tends to have a big enough impact on my life that it has a lot of my attention. That and I agree with the democrats on a few other fronts as well, such as energy and foreign policy.

Honestly guys, is there any difference left between democrats and republicans nowadays? After every election - the same pissing contest, the only thing changing is opposition.

I do not ascribe to any strict political ideologies, nor do I care to label myself as anything other than “politically interested.” I like to have knowledge and have a stake in what happens, but I will not shoehorn myself into “convenient” labels. They just cloud discussion and all too often become the focus of discussion over any real debate or insight into the issues at hand.

I will support the party that makes the most compelling case for my support, and even that’s a bald misstatement. I will support the person that makes the most compelling case for their ability in the position at stake.
I really don’t care if they call themselves Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, or Jedi. As long as they have some fucking values they believe in and stick to them, well…that would be a fucking miracle.
