Your first "first person shooter"

Chex Quest

My first FPS was Oddworld Strangers wrath. I still play it to this very day.

Counter Strike 1.1

Actually I’ve played alot of FPS games before discovering CS, but I forgot all of them due to it’s epicness.

^N7ce one!

I thought chexquest was a doom mod?
Descent was amazing for the time. It came installed on my new Mac power pc back in 1996, I played that game all the time. Later I got the Marathon 2-3 series, pretty good gaming for an apple user in the mid 90’s I say.

Apple used to have good games before mac os 10.

Halo: Combat Evolved
Gaaaah. Crap game.

From the Chex Quest wiki:

“Chex Quest, made by Digital Café, is a total conversion of The Ultimate DooM. It was released in boxes of Chex Cereal in 1996, becoming the first game to be included in a cereal box.”

So there you have it.

Also, Descent was awesome but wasn’t it more a fighter sim than FPS?

Damn that’s awesome for a cereal game, in my time they only had monopoly and other shitty games in cereal boxes.

Chex Quest? How the hell have I never heard of this until now?
Erm, after seeing some gameplay footage, maybe I have heard of it and just repressed any memories of it.

Goldeneye on N64, alittle, but I mainly played platformers and vert scrolling shooters.

Quake I… it’s still fun today

I still remember finding the chex quest cd in a cereal box as a kid. I never installed it however, I was way more interested in killing hell-spawn with my plasma rifle lol.

Well, Descent meets all requirements of being an FPS, it’s a shooter in first person.

Half-Life, back in the summer of '98 or '99. I think my dad’s boss gave it to him and then he installed it on his computer and showed me. He worked nights and would sleep for the first half of the day, so I played that waiting for him to wake up. After that I really got into gaming, but Half-Life is still the best for me. I’ve played it so many times, I lost count around fifty :stuck_out_tongue: .

I remember now, the first FPS I’ve ever played was duke nukem 3D.

Marathon
EDIT: Wow, 2 people said Marathon on the same page.
Anyone here AlephOne players?

@JohnKiller118: You’re doing i7 wrong.
T’s, not i’s, jeez man.

Don’t forget Roller Coaster Tycoon ^_^.

Well, I 7ried.
