I can totally understand that the average parent can’t figure out how to change inputs on a TV but what I’m really seeing here is that after being forced to make their consoles more durable (after the RRoD fiasco) Microsoft are encouraging consumers to run down the hardware by using it as a HDMI to HDMI+gestures adapter…
All they had to do was ship a TV tuner with it and the console will RRoD twice as fast! Microsoft you are a bunch of evil geniuses…
The controller looks super comfy tho
There’s something about the phrase “a completely new call of duty” that makes me want to hit someone.
Xbox go home, you are drunk.
“I think everyone was expecting us to play it safe this year and make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. But we didn’t want to do the safe thing, we wanted to do the right thing, and that meant mocapping a dog sidekick.”
woof woof
Better yet, Kinect 2.0 is required to be connected to the Xbox One at all times for the console to function. And the camera will be on even when the console itself is off. Between this and the requirement to pay for the ability to play a game on a different XBL profile, along with the lack of backwards compatibility? I’m gonna flip the bird to Micro$oft this generation. Seriously, those guys can fuck themselves. This console will flop, and flop hard.
Plus, it looks fuck-ugly.
^ I don’t think that stuff bothers most people. At least not as much as it does to you, me, and the kind of people who frequent these forums.
And I definitely don’t think it’s gonna flop. Not for those issues, at least.
i like how they were like “whoa look at this dog we’re so excited this is new” and expected the viewers to be impressed
Well essentially it’s just Steam, except instead of downloads, you have a disc.
… and about 6 million ads to clutter the menu.
I think I’ll stick with my trusty PC.
Asymmetry is the way of the future.
They’d be retarded not to put all game releases downloadable from the Marketplace at the same time as the disk releases from now on. Specially since Sony is going to do that on the PS4 and is already doing it on the PS3.
so… on top of dropping ~$400 for this new console, I need to have a steady internet connection, and pay monthly fees for Xbox live for the console to even work?
Have they not thought of the demographic that just wants to play wither single player games or games with people in the same room, on the same tv?
It was interesting to see what happened to Microsoft’s and Sony’s share prices as the presentation went on…
