Dont care for alt-reality tech glasses or Kinect 2. they both seem to be a gimmick and a stupid way to keep people more technology dependent… Id rather just receive regular xbox 720 console … if i wanna play a video game i just wanna relax on the couch for a hour or 2 and zone out not be engulfed in more gimmicky crap (which seems to occur more and more as of late)
Then again, the Kinect 2 features sound real good for the extra-interactive entertainment users out there.
The stereo capture and the higher quality camera sounds good for the home mocap guys.
native 3D and a built-in kinect system in what will definitely be backwards compatible with 360 and Xbox 1 titles.
Pretty much nothing to complain about, assuming it allows 360 data to be transferred

Sounds pretty good to me. 3D is only gimmicky right now I think because of requiring glasses and costing a lot. Once 3D technology can be developed that is relatively inexpensive and requires no glasses, I think it will become accepted as just another normal feature you’d expect, like color or HD resolutions before it. Also yeah, the Kinect is already pretty technologically astounding. Tech like that was never available so cheap until Microsoft stepped in and made the Kinect. Can’t wait to see what kind of projects Kinect 2 will enable. I’m also hoping that price point hasn’t changed - that’s a great entry level price for a console, especially one with that many features.
If it turns out this way, I’ll be more than willing to reclaim the title of “Console Gamer.”

Not a fan of Microsoft because they are mass producing computers that cannot run Windows, their most widely accepted Operating System.
So this is why they talked about Windows 8 for ARM… I bet the Xbox 3 version doesn’t have any of the Window management capabilities, only tiles.
If they can get more first party developers on board, then yeah, I’ll give into Microsoft’s comforting grip.
The xbox , while having a basass tripple core PPC cpu only runs 64mb of ram. Windowd would choke. I mean, Why would they take something that works great all by it’s self and then make it work OK or worse by putting windows on it? 
Microshaft has always maintained a RISC build of windows but they never release it. Windows for arm is just to make it tablet competitive
A controller and better hardware is all a good console need (and good games ofc)
With Crytek on their side, they’re gonna be pretty fucking formidable.
I’d like the 360 more if it’s menu had half of the functionality of Windows, that’s what Microsofts known for, giving you a million ways to do one thing.

Agreed, but I don’t see Crytek completely abandoning PC gaming just for the new Xbox though. When I think about an Xbox exclusive, I think about the ones that aren’t also on PC only.
microsoft hires smart people and asks them to do dumb things, kinect is what you get
If they do everything they say they’re going to do with it, then I think this could be a pretty damned good system.
With all new technology comes a learning curve.
