I’m not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, great! They’re finally making it! On the other hand, they’re taking away the slow, rotting zombies, but I guess that’s necessary to make this movie paced well.
What do you think?
Is it actually named after the book or did they just go with that title because it sounded cool?

On one hand, I’m getting pissed at zombies popping up everywhere. On the other, this one looks kind of interesting, and it kind of makes me wanna finish the book (assuming this is based on the book).
It doesn’t from what I’ve seen so far (Israel falling when it’s not the case in the book).
It looks like the call of duty of zombie movies.
Which is to say, if you like watching lots of explosions, and actiony things that are completely impossible and improbable and are purely for the sake of seeing how far they can push their special effects guys because they have twice as many special effects guys working on the movie because they didn’t bother to hire writers, then this will probably be enjoyable for you.
If you enjoy movies like 28 days later, you will probably just vomit explosively for two and a half hours.

Over all, I saw this tonight. Not impressed. Prolly won’t bother watching it.
Yeah, that looked generic and totally fucking stupid. It might be worth watching if it’s ridiculous enough.
generic and stupid, describes almost everything the entertainment industry has been doing for the last 5 or so years.
I’m pretty sure that, in the book, Isreal sealed itself off but then broke out into some sort of civil war.
And North Korea disappeared.
Kind of dumb, considering that’s the only reason they were able to win the “war” in the book.
They had Max Brooks on Sons of Guns. He mentioned that they’re making Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z movies.
Trailer didn’t do it for me. Way too much CG, doesn’t look like its based on the book at all. Mindless Hollywood style instead of documentary style like the book. What made the novel great was that it explored the outbreak and aftermath of the pandemic from many different perspectives, made it feel like a truly global thing. This just looks so generic and bland… ugh. Pretty disappointing to be honest. It could have been amazing if they stuck to the source material.
Exactly. The book succeeded because it wasn’t all about killing zombies, it was about people; how they confronted the catastrophe, how they dealt with the aftermath, etc. Some of the the things they touch on in the book, like that one chapter with the submarines, barely even involved zombies at all.
I’ll watch it but I am willing to bet it wont be THAT good.
