Wolfenstein: The New World Order

Are we playing the same game?

Even the pistols sound beautifully OP.

You’re maybe the only one playing on an external surround set-up here. Like I told you, the sound mix for headphones is quite weak.

Most games let you select what kind of setup you have. If possible just change it to speakers even if you’re using headphones.

Wolfenstein is not most games, tho…

I have the same issue. It sounds wonderful on my speakers but on my headphones the game volume is way too low with everything raised.

It’s really too bad because the guns sound amazing but I want to use my headset.

Also I almost don’t want to choose wyatt on my next playthrough because I love fergus

Ye see, I’d have trouble choosing Wyatt because he’s so fuckin innocent and adorable and has so much promise, and Fergus has been around and is ready and even willing to die.

I went with wyatt’s survival first but this playthrough’s gonna be fergus.

Am I the only one who isn’t having this problem? I’ve watched several friends play it and played it myself very far and aside from the melee enemy AI which is clearly broken, the AI has been quite responsive and seemed decently intelligent, but I keep hearing people say that the AI is badly messed up.

This might help reduce stuttering and/or texture pop-in.

Someone on the Steam forums called Voksi made a modified exe for the game, which supposedly improves performance. Not sure if it’s legit or not, the mods keep deleting threads referring to it (maybe it bypasses Steam). Haven’t tried it myself.

There seems to be some navmesh issues, but they only get stuck 10% of the time for me. The rest of the time my ass is getting flanked and I couldn’t stay behind cover even if I wanted to.

Meh, RTCW single player campaign was miles better.

The only thing I liked were the not so subtle Escape from Butcher Bay references. Btw, both Butcher Bay and Darkness show much better what Starbreeze lot are capable off. I expected way more interactivity.

P.S. The gunplay is sick though, although poor gun variety makes it freaking boring after a while.
P.P.S. Music in this is horrible.

I dont know about you but those songs are stuck in my head even before launch

I’m actually amazed at how good the gunplay is. It was the weakest element in The Darkness and Butcher Bay, so that was a very pleasant surprise.

Also, I think I need to replay RtCW and Raven’s Wolfenstein now.

I love the soundtrack, personally

Would you guys recommend buying it then, or trying to find some sort of deal in the future? Cause I wanna play this, but I don’t wanna waste my money.

If you want to play it but are hesitant to spend the money, you can always acquire a free copy of it by sharing amongst your peers.

I will say from my personal experience, although I got it for 10$ less than full, it was definitely worth it.

To my own surprise the story was fairly interesting and there’s quite a bit of little side paths and bits of exploration to keep multiple playthroughs interesting.

Plus I played on the second hardest difficulty and it was well balanced for it, it was challenging without really being frustrating like difficulties in other games tend to be.

EDIT: Of course you could always do it Pyro’s way too.

Hmm I was gonna wait till I could find a used copy for 10 bucks cheaper. Or until I got free money that I didn’t earn myself haha i do really want to play this game, but no one I know plays it, nor do they have any interest in it at all. I’m the big war gamer of all my friends (kinda got it from my grandpa, he loves war games) while they’re all the Dead-Space and CoD (newer ones, not WW2 era which is my favorite) and assassins creed and such gamers.

Cheesy cock rock and rather pathetic acoustic guitar do not compare favourably with:

And yeah, THIS:

The whole soundtrack just feels massively out of place for a Wolfenstein game, too.

To be honest, my main problem was the fact that the little elements they mixed in the usual FPS gameplay felt too much like Escape from Butcher Bay/Darkness lite. Knowing how Starbreeze handled FPSs before, it was a bit irritating. Syndicate suffered from the same thing btw.

Except those aren’t really played during the game process.
And uh, yeah, those are all essentially just german covers of 50s-60s hits.

What a bummer ending.

Ugh, I had weird visual glitches. so I updated my drivers. Now they are gone, but the framerate is lower with the newer drivers, dafuq? Any idea how to improve performance?
