Will Black Mesa replace Half Life 1 for you?

I remember the day I played the Half-Life Series. I had a windows XP laptop at the time. I bought Half-Life Blue Shift from Costco. I popped it in and played Blue Shift. I then realized, after I played the full game, that my gorillaz music disk was in the CD Drive and it was playing that music while I was playing. Guess the game automatic played the music from the CD Drive. Then after that I played Opposing Force and then I did some research and discovered Half-Life 1, I was blown away from all 3 games. I am hoping the same thing happens again when I play Black Mesa Source. As in blow me away. Still was cool shooting aliens while listening to Gorillaz.

Will Black Mesa replace Half-Life 1 for me? We will see… I hope it surprises me like the first time I played half-life.

There should be a way to mute the in-game music and then play any CD while you play.

If I haven’t answered this question before (I can’t recall if I did or not): Black Mesa probably will not replace Half Life 1 for me. It will probably sit side-by-side with Half-Life as co-equals. I will probably play the original and the new version depending upon mood.

But, that’s just my prediction; I don’t know how to truthfully answer that question until the mod is released.

I’ll probably just replace the music in the music folder with the HL1 music on my second or third playthrough to see how it is with HL1 music.

Other then that, BM might actually replace HL1 for me just because I’ve played HL1 so many damn times I’m wanting something fresh. That doesn’t mean I won’t play HL1 again though, just not as often.

I hope DM is really fun as well.

From a voice acting perspective I’m certain it will. For me Inbound is one of the most stylistically immersive intros to a game that I’ve ever seen. I was really nervous about the voice acting there as I thought it was already perfect. Boy was I wrong, Victoria has done an awesome job there. And Kevin is so much better than Michael Shapiro at voicing Barney.

Something I’d actually like to do is to make a side by side playthrough and post it on youtube. Never done anything like that before but I think it would be worth the effort.

just got me all excited for bm again. just re-watching the trailer that was released a wile back get me gigity, the whole inbound chapter is memorable, seeing it decked out in source is going to be cream.

Yes, if you’ll do the same bugs: bunny hop, slip near walls, bugs of scripts, ect…

No.

im proven you wrong when its out. im gonna break out of that tram on inbound.

Whoo, big man.

That’s dependent on the engine rather than just the mod…

Twilight-the-pony, You don’t say! It’s was’t a question, you-all did’t have to answer.

And now the question: what will you do after release BM?

First; play trough the mod drunk. Second, play through the mod sober. Third; Learn how to hack source mods. Fourth – Add Twilight Sparkle in the Xen tram.

Probably in that order. Can’t vouch for first and second…

I’ll need to play BM a few times to get the feel of it before I can make an honest choice…

Fixed.

Oh you guys are better than that?Thank god.

No, no, no… You’re doing it completely wrong…
We all know, that Twilight Sparkle IS a G-Man…
