that cut stuff must be highly annoying… I’d get a new account created with a fake country address (lets say england) and then I’d buy games Over steam instead of in a german box.

Doesn’t work anymore, you have to import an uncut game instead.
There’s a very good steam.dll patch against that problem out there though. Works like a charm for me, all games are 100% uncut.

I don’t see a reason for that. I don’t cheat nor do I do anything else wrong. I just customized my steam client.

OK dudes… I got the UnCut version last week and the Steam-Support replaced my cutted KEY with the UnCutted…

Finally… I have GORE! And to refine it, I’ve downloaded new blood decals for TF2…

Yes, they somehow fixed that you can’t hide your country anymore. In some cases though, it still seems to work to trick them with the country or maybe with loads of effort.

To be precisely all what the patch is doing is preventing steam from using the low violence files (.LV) that you got with your game. Therefor I appear like I’m not from germany or something althought I highly doubt that it’s getting tracked which files I’m using and which not. Of course there’s a risk and I’ve read alot stuff before using the patch, but there don’t seem to be any problems.

From times to times we used to play in our TF2 server with “partygibs” activated. And it’s quite fun, as long it is not a governemental obligation.

no.
if you have it uncut you’ll never get a cut version only by visiting germany and using your steam account there.
as I mentioned before, the key includes information, where you have bought it and the land counts only at the time of registering the game.
so, keyinfo + actuall country = cut or uncut.

then buying the game using steam on a non german account doesn’t give you a cut version If you are in germany.

I realise the CD key combined with the country would do that, however a major requirement for getting a cd key is buying the physical discs for the game.
I am mentioning buying things via steam, say you make an account stating you are english and whatnot would valve recognise that it is in germany and therefore let you download a cut version when you buy it Over steam.
