So, I think the creator of this thread would be more thrilled to learn why Blue Shift has its name.

Of course, working a shift in the blue security guard uniforms…makes a good reference… but more importantly, a blue shift happens as the doppler-effect-for-light makes objects coming toward you at a high rate of speed appear bluer.
Red-shift and blue-shift: Using the way elements and their reactions in a star burn, we can see how off-of-normal-hue things are. This lets us tell how quickly a star is headed away from us (or towards us if that’s the case).

A half-life is the amount of time it takes a radioactive material to decay to half its original count rate. I’d imagine because it was set in a laboratory with toxic waste that it would be the ideal name for the game.
