Considering the Combine are already using repurposed human tech in some places, that would make a hell of a lot of sense for a main weapon for the Combine. Although the aesthetic appeal of an actual alien designed pulse rifle does seem more appropriate. I guess swap the MP7 with it?

I love most non-traditional magazines. I have a crush on the side-loading mag of the Natural Selection LMG, for instance.

I found the AR2 design very weird, not because it was alien, but because it looks prone to malfunction. I mean, the hammer and the chambered round are exposed to the elements, not to mention that the lack of a barrel results in terrible accuracy and recoil (it really shows on gameplay, the AR2 is very innacure for an assault rifle). I would’ve like something along the lines of a modified G36 with the drum magazine of the AR2.

Haha, yes. You have no idea. It carries into my in-game weapon selection.

Natural Selection? LMG.
Goldeneye? RC-P90.
Battlefield 2? Bizon.
Call of Duty? PPSh. [COLOR=’#808080’]Or Fallschirmjagergewehr when available.

I just found out about the G11 yesterday when checking out caseless ammunition. A boxy gun? With boxy ammo? Stored upright in a box?! I approve!

I think my favorite is the helical magazine. The Calico is what Dr. Evil’s henchmen should have been equipped with. I’d have loved to use the Bizon in City 17, but due to how complete it looks, adding a grenade launcher would have made it seem silly! :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh god, I remember that gun from CoD 3. It was really cool, and also incredibly overpowered. Automatic, scoped, sniper rifle-worthy damage…

Yes :awesome: sounds like it didn’t change much between CoD and CoD 3. It was a godsend to find in singleplayer… probably giving me more joy to find than any particular Half-Life weapon gave.

I’m not awesome with scopes, though, so in multiplayer (depending on the map) I would grab it to scrap it before someone more talented could loot it back.

It’s a shame the Sten is so weak.

The FG-42 was indeed a fun gun to use in COD 1. It just tended to burn through ammunition way too fast.

One of my favs was the M1 Carbine- easy to use, fires faster and more accurately than a Garand, and has a mag reload after fifteen rounds instead of a clip reload after the Garand’s eight. Basically anything in medium combat range is dead meat if you know what you’re doing with the M1 Carbine.

CoD 2 had the Gewhr 43- ten rounds, box mag loads faster than the clip on a Mosin, and almost as accurate. Very handy for clearing rooms when used in conjunction with either PPSh.

Futuristic looking, compact, automatic, reliable, perhaps accommodates a little nade-launcher under the barrel… and supports Glock magazines, so that’s a nice throwback.

Ep 3 will be the same SMG we’ve been using the past 3 games.

If it were a new game though? Hmmmm, very difficult. Personally I’d have to go for something completely new, based off of some real world prototype SMG at the time of the invasion, changed to reflect its different evolution in old government-resistance hands.

I’m sure a lot of HL fans would cry “MODERN WARFARE CLONE” if they saw that gun in the roster.

The Magpul PDR looks like a good fit though- very P-90 style ergonomics.
