maybe traveling to the pre historic era to stop the combine in trying to take over earth before humans. eh? eh?
No. :meh:
I think Valve are more interested in telling a story about the future than about the past. Time travel would just feel tacked on and out of place.
I actually think time travel is going to play a large role in the Half-Life universe.
First, there’s the slow teleport (which is actually time travel) from Half-Life 2. I think it hints at something. I mean, it would be silly to introduce it if it serves no purpose.
Then there’s Borealis.
What kind of technology could possibly be on there, if it’s not time travel, that Eli is so afraid of, and the Combine & Kleiner wants so bad?
It is almost obvious that the technology is teleportation related, the ship disappeared from the docks and ended up close to the North Pole somewhere,
and since time travel in the Half-Life universe is seemingly just slow teleportation, I don’t think my idea is very far fetched.
Or, all this could be the ramblings of a madman
I’d time travel to get my hands on Black Mesa, Episode 3 and HL3
I don’t think the slow teleport really counts as time travel. It’s the same sort of thing as the G-Man putting Gordon in stasis - it’s just keeping people frozen for an extended time. I’m also pretty sure that the reason they added the slow teleport was to give the rebels enough time to start fighting, seeing as a lot of the plot had been cut down.
think. dinos killing combines and dino headcrab zombies XD or an adivcor being ripped to shreads by a t rex with alyx yelling at the advicor. XD
What is wrong with you?
He probably thinks it’s a good idea. But it’s not.
The only feasible idea that could logically work would be to go back to Black Mesa and kill breen before the incident happens. Wait, put away the flamethrowers, I’m not finished yet!
But that’s a terrible idea, and Valve would not do something that stupid.
Does Backburner count? I’ll W+M1 you :3
Read the quote from my sig. Then decide.
NO, the last thing we need is another gimmicky time-travel game.
We all know, that there is absolutely nothing time travel related in Half-Life. Especially not when Gman freezes time around Gordon, and flings him two decades into the future.
(Where his evil is law. Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Gman.)
OK… you know T-Rex had tiny hands and was most probably a scavenger, not a predator. Also - the bone reconstructions and OMG Jurassic P(o)ark render was just exagerated? T-Rex was just a poor guy with huge head and tiny claws. So… not THAT scary.
Now… On the other hand - if a headcrab attacked/controlled a Stegosaur… Wow
New boss - > StegoZombie = teh win!
Ciao
Useless thread is useless. He was obviously being facetious.
Did no one notice the ‘eh? eh?’
it’s perpose MIGHT be to you know, advance the game seven days so that you can go kick breens ass right away instead of sit around feeding lammar watermelons for a week.
you’ve been waiting a long time to say that haven’t you?
Been there, Done that. :jizz:
Yes, because plot convenience negates the fact that it’s a perfectly valid argument.
Remember Time splinter?
A yes Time Splinter, where a man has a splinter in his finger and fast travels back into the past to stop himself from getting a splinter into his finger
