Wheatley High-Poly Model

Something random for the Steam Forums:

dat hand :jizz:

Haha! They still need a lot of work.

He now has his weapon though.

Thanks,

Harry.

I’m not too fond of the blue gradient background but the model is just WOW. how did you get this good this fast?

Haha, thanks; what background would you prefer? Plain grey? I went for blue for ATLAS, but was planning on a pale orange when I start P-Body.

Just lots of practice and experimentation. :freeman:

yes, it’s not that I don’t like blue in general, but there’s something I don’t like about that particular gradient that I can’t quite put my finger on.

I quite like the blue background, but i think it works best with the textured versions of the model

Small update:

Thanks,

Harry.

I salute.

Grey’s much better, definitely.

I think those pneumatic holders are too thin.

I agree, I’m planning on fixing all of the proportions when the whole model is nearly finished.

It’s more of a navy blue now.

Something a little different:

Thanks,

Harry.

make an animation out of it NAO plz.

That’s awesome! I was thinking of asking you if you could do the pancake robot! How did you know?!

I do think the yellow bracket could be dirtied up a bit, and a duller yellow. Don’t know if you’d really want to spend any time on that though.

I wish you will make high res model for half-life 2…

Alright, so it’s not very good, but here’s a quick new model:

Thanks,

Harry.

yeah you should definitely make an animation video

Dude, do you work at Valve?

I don’t think he does, but damn if they DONT hire Harry. those models are spot-on

I think that Vavle stole your idea from Gordon Wheatley:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
