Whats the absolutely most horrid and overrated game you have ever played?

Bioshock… bad… …? Hehe…he…heh…h.hhhhh…

WITCH!!! Burn the Witch! :mean:

Yes. I couldn’t play it for more than an hour, because it just doesn’t make sense. I mean, why should I go there and do that, who’s that Irish bloke telling me to do stuff, and why should I follow his advices? Why should I inject myself that thing while it made everybody else go bonker? It looks like the city’s been in ruins for like fifty years, while that Irish guy’s still alive and well. I mean, the people just couldn’t have all turned like this in a matter of hours.

And you enjoyed Half-Life? :brow:

Metal Gear Solid 4 - biggest disappointment ever. For striping series plot from all its mysteries with one word. Nanomachines. :’(
Not to mention horrible, ancient gameplay.
But, no one seemed to notice… :freeman:

Not a single bit. Seriously, though, I don’t see the point of your argument.

What are you doing on a forum for the mod which is a recreation of the original HL?

CoD MW 2 & Bo are very over rated. I have to force my self to play the campaign, half the time it makes no sense at all. MW 1 was great and so was WaW the campaign was actually enjoyable and WaW’s campaign was well made, in fact i’d rather play a remake of WaW than CoD : Bo or MW2.

I’m probably gonna get some hate for this, but GTA San Andreas. I loved Vice City and enjoyed GTA III, and GTA 2 + GTA IV are 2 of my all-time favorite games, but San Andreas was so BORING to me.

It had a story that was overly stereotypical of “gangster life” and didn’t let me connect with it at all, it had a big map but it just seemed so EMPTY and not very detailed, the graphics were very unimpressive for the time it came out on PC (although it was a port from consoles so thats understandable but not excusable), had a bunch of gimmicks like having to eat and exercise and stuff which IMHO belong in the Sims rather than GTA, running over pedestrians was EXTREMELY annoying since it practically stopped your car every time you hit someone (don’t remember if it was like this in Vice City but I don’t think so), etc. etc.

It’s funny because the ending of the game literally explains all of this. Pretty well, too.

Dragon Age. Still have no idea why anyone liked it aside from consoletards who don’t know any better. Absolutely hated it. First game to tarnish Bioware’s record of awesome games.

Resident Evil 5. Yeah - asides from the fact that I think the Japanese as a nation are even more ignorant of the outside world than Americans, my gripe about this game is that I feel sucker-punched due to how good RE4 was. I started the game for the first time expecting it to be as good as RE4, but then quickly after the first hour I realized they relapsed back into the retard-spanking habits of every other RE game in the series before RE4.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent - It’s not a bad game at all, I just don’t like it. I think why I don’t like it is that it annoys innately - it strikes a nerve that runs to the core of what I favor in my gaming experience: that the character I control is at least as competent in the situation as I am. I know you’re supposed to be a defenseless victim based around avoiding and running away from the horrible and terrifying monstrosities hunting you. However even with this context in mind I absolutely hate playing as wimpy retards with no survival skills or sense of self-preservation. There are suits of armor that hold axes, pikes and swords - why the flying fuck can’t I just grab one off of them and ambush one of the monsters? They’re roughly human-sized and it’s probably closer to what I would do - you don’t need to be muscle-bound or courageous to favor the cowardly art of ambushing things stronger than you. Whimpering and gibbering like a bitch when it gets a teensy-bit dark, loudly clomping around in a stone corridor like an idiot, and doing all of the above while holding a bright light - keep in mind, the ONLY non-natural light source in the entire castle/dungeon/whatever - without covering it is NOT how I would try and survive the scenario. Actually, it sounds like a sure-fire way to make sure you get yourself found and killed horribly as fast as possible. I can’t stand being told to ‘be immersed’ when my avatar/representation in the game is more incompetent than I am. :meh:

That, and I hate that indy developer bullshit they tell you at the beginning of the game “Brah, don’t try and win the game, man - become one with the spirits and let the experience flooooowwww through you! Peace and love, brah!”

Fuck that shit, I play games to the end and for completion - no fucking shit I’m going to play trying to win. Pretentious douches.

But yeah, despite what my intense and deep-seated hate-fueled rant would imply, I do think the game is good because it does do survival-horror right. It’s just that my idea of survival usually has me ambushing shit and not being a total bitch when someone turns out the lights.

What’s wrong with world of warcraft ? Yes … gameplay gets kinda boring after a while but It have the best story of all mmorpg’s.You have to play it with friends and exchange pvp, pve, leveling and professions then its good.
That’s why I’m waiting for warcraft 4
And Deus Ex sucks,Bioshock sucks,cod4 is 50/50 but mw2 and black ops sucks,Metal gear solid 4 sucks ? lol … best game ever.
And the worst game ? I don’t know … everyone have a different opinion and I cant judge that.

fixed

(I also made it match with the way you type.)
WoW fails to take it’s self seriously. It’s cartoony and sucks period. If you don’t like those facts then grow up and get a life. If you want me to I can make a list of reasons why it sucks.

What?.. :brow: Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 were great games. Resident Evil 4 is the one that ruined the whole franchise IMO.

Yeah… you’re probably the only person who thinks that. RE4 was awesome.

Audiosurf. Bought it on sale and I still want my $2.50 back.

Penumbra. The only way to kill something is to drop a stone on its head, and before you do that, you have to die from looking at it for too long.

This guy sums it up pretty well, except after it’s all said and done he still likes the game, I don’t.

I said it was the best of the Call of Duty franchise, not the best game ever. There’s a difference.

I suspect that only casual gamers and people that didn’t play the first 3 games in the series before playing RE4 would think that RE4 was better.

Anyway, I didn’t even mention any overrated games I’ve played. Let me think…

Almost every game I’ve played on the Wii
Alien Vs. Predator 2
Red Alert 2
GTA IV
Starcraft 2
All Need For Speed games since the ones for PS1.
The Pokemon Series
Pikmin
All Sonic Games after SA2

“pk. you are master of unlocking, take this”

Sure you’re not just seeing them while wearing nostalgia-colored spectacles?

The first three were mediocre at best. RE4 was the first one that was actually good because it didn’t do any of the silly, goofy shit that RE as a series was known for. Then they went full-retard with the stupid inventory, and stupid token A&T side-kick, and stupid plot. Seriously, at least you could tell Ashley to GTFO and hide in a dumpster instead of waste health, ammo, and my patience for shit AI. And for fuck’s sake, what was wrong with the inventory of RE4 that the 9-block suck-fest in RE5 fixed? Why crapcom, why?

TBH, I thought Bioshock was just a lame steampunk version of System Shock 2. It wasn’t bad - granted, the heavy Ayne Rand atmosphere was a bit irritating, but by no means a horrible game. However, I’m still a little irked that the developers had the story of SS2, the graphics technology, and the interest to do something that was similar to SS, but not go forward with the series into #3. Really, I would have rather had something like a good sequel that picked up from SS2 than Bioshock one and it’s crap sequel.

CoD as a series is bland. It’s another game that would be fine albeit instantly forgettable if not for having a juvenile fanbase and abyssmal XBL community that shoves it all the way down to the bottom of the septic tank of modern FPSs.

edit and Pokemon as a series stopped being good after the first generation. Nothing since then has changed except adding more and more bland and uninspired ink-wastes to the roster. Somehow, this mardigras of stagnation has been thriving for over a decade.

And Sonic… yeesh, it’s like those comparison photos of Axel Rose from the 80s to how he is now. Sonic Team should just be put out of their misery in a form of mercy-killing. I feel more pity for them than I do outrage.

Like I care about your list of reasons and the only thing you can suck is your own cock.
