What's next?

Guys, I’m a newbie to this amazing world of Halflife. I have recently completed HL1 and I’m about half done with HL2…

I have passed Portal too.

And now I’m thinking, do they plan to make one final game, not only Half Life not only Portal but to maybe merge these two epic games, to bring back Adrian, and to finally let us know more about Gman and his “employers”? What are your theories?

[COLOR=‘DeepSkyBlue’]Welcome to the forums. :slight_smile:

Now about your questions;

You should probably finish Half-life 2. Then finish Episode 1 and Episode 2 before going on about that, but the truth is, no one really knows.

You can count on the fact that Adrian Shepard isn’t coming back seeing as how he was made by Gearbox and not Valve. Gearbox created Blue shift and Opposing Force by the way.
We ironically just went over this in a sub-thread.

About Portal and Half-life merging;

They’re only partially related to the extent that Aperture Science is the competing science facility to Black Mesa.

You will learn more about that in Half-life 2 Episode 2 along with the Gman.

Portal 2 was just released, and it seems that they are striving to pull away from the fact that Half-life is involved. I’m guessing this is due to Portal’s unsuspected success, leading Valve to not want the Half-life Universe to tie down any possible plot modifications. This is probably because not everyone that plays Portal plays Half-life. That would be my guess as to why, but no one is sure.

Thank you for your interest in Half-life :lambda:
If you have any questions about the mod itself, be sure to put them here :bms:

Thank you for joining the forum. Be sure to get a profile picture up and a nice sig :wink:

Play Half-Life 2: Episode 1 & 2 when you’re done. :slight_smile:

“Passed” like a test? heh. You do know Portal 2 just came out right?

Not going to happen.

Not going to happen.

Play Half-Life 2: Episode 1 & 2. There’s more about the Gman, but nothing about his employers.

I don’t know why you thought it was a good idea to not only re-answer his question, but to literally say the exact same thing as me in a less fashionable manner.

You literally just wasted my time.

Adrian Sheperd is not going to come back, unless Valve says so.
They just don’t have any use for him.

Holy shit, who the hell is this guy? The world doesn’t spin around you, you know.

No, he didn’t. Now stop wasting our time.

Then why did Blue Shift suck so much if it wasn’t just made after Opposing Force, but also by the same company?

Check out this thread or this updated version.

Edit: due to getting some random 500s when loading a page in addition to 404s when loading the document, I missed the edit button and double posted.

What

Hopefully episode 3 will answer all your questions. Of course, the one about Shephard will not be answered for reasons stated above.

Now, I’m thinking that Half Life 3 may delve deeper into the story of the G-man. We’ll find out a bit more about him in Episode 3, sure, but I really think HL3 is where he’ll play a more major role.

Wait til you get to episode 2, such an amazing game!

I really enjoyed opposing force, but don’t read too much into it. It’s just a fun add on for half life, no greater significance :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s a whole bunch of mods out there that continue Shepard’s story, maybe try a few of them?

Don’t really understand what you’re asking. Blue Shift was a mini game in the Dreamcast version of Half-life that was later canceled. That is why it has no new features – hope I helped…

Actually, if I would have known that someone was going to literally repeat me, then I wouldn’t have wasted my time answering the guy. I wasn’t confused about his answering him, just at the fact that he said what I said nearly word for word.
So yes, it WAS a waste of my time. I don’t know if I ninja’d him, or if he meant to do it. Fact is, he wasted my time intentionally or not.

Hi, I’m OrderOfDagon, how’s it going? The world spins around the sun btw.
If you have something to say to me, say it, and don’t make an open statement.

Yeah, the website gets like that a lot. I don’t really know why; Hubi is probably already on it.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t even bother reading your post once I saw the blue text. I guess I’m biased that way. If I did copy what you said ‘word for word’ it must have been subconsciously. I’d apologize for it too, if you didn’t needlessly erase any evidence there of.

You’re on a forum about a video games. Pretty much everything you do here is a complete & utter waste of your time.

It’s nice to see a rhetorical pie hole be shut, thanks Dias :slight_smile:

gee, now the OP is probably confused about what he should do since two people pointed at the same thing in a ultimately corroborating effect. can it get MOAR FALE?

I don’t know, maybe posting at a thread that died almost a week ago?

This is “What’s Next.” Complete crap. :fffuuu:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
