Not that I really care about what they’ll show since they haven’t started working on my Episode Three yet but Dota 2 and CS:GO are already announced and they are nothing compared to everything else that’s gonna be, Halo 4, GTA V etc, so there must be something else…
They only have a small private room and will show off Dota 2, CS GO and the Steam Big Picture.
Better don’t get your hopes up, for a possible HL announcement.
They are working on MY Episode 3, with hookers and blackjack.
I like the way OP thinks they haven’t begun working on the next Half-Life installment even though he doesn’t know anything about what’s happening in Valve.
I like the way jokes go over your head.
Oh Snap!
I like the way you don’t know of the stupidity that has been seen on not only the internet, but within black mesa forums.
I like the way you move.
They will show a sign that says “fuck you”
I like the way that this is the 50,000th thread about Valve and E3.
they will show something old in a new package (CS:GO)
Portal 2: Episode 1
ASSUMING you mean at this years E3, I don’t see why people think Valve needs to make any big announcements. They’ll show off Dota 2, CS GO & Steam Big Picture Mode.
If Valve was going to announce anything Half-Life related, it would spread so quickly across the internet revealing it at an Expo would almost be counter-productive. Instead they showcase crap most of the Half-Life fanbase doesn’t care about, because we’ll watch anyway in hopes that something HL-related might show. If we find ourselves interested in their other games/services because of it, then the more power to them.
A new Half life, 100%, obviously
fixed
There is no Half Life – only Zuul.
I’ve been reading up on big picture mode. Sounds like it’s an option to consolize your pc. A mode where you can interact with steam in the same way one interacts with an xbox.
So, if this is console mode with controller support, might Valve add splitscreen? It’s the obvious direction to take this, and though controller gaming would never work with competitive games, games like L4D and Portal 2 would do just fine with controller splitscreen on the pc as would any other co-op campaign. It doesn’t even have to be limited to Valve games, with the feature in existence I wouldn’t be surprised if other developers would work with Steam to make it happen in their games too, not unlike steam workshop support for Skyrim. I’ve brought pc splitscreen up before and most people said no one would ever take advantage of the feature. They’re absolutely full of shit, and steam big picture makes a splitscreen controller option a hell of a lot more appetizing than it already was.
It may be wildly optimistic, but I think it’s possible that splitscreen will be announced as a component of big picture either at E3 or somewhere down the line. If anyone is going to see the advantage in a new idea like this, it’s going to be Valve.
Also note that a fairly simple mod gives L4D1 splitscreen support using code left from the console version, so it’s obviously not difficult to add the feature.
Just play Serious Sam! Duh!
