Let me guess- you got to a headquarters mission.
No, I did not like the game-play style right away as I began getting further than the beginning of the second mission. It is too slow (EDIT: and too unforgiving - have to restart more often than I prefer).
I guess you probably wouldn’t like the first three games- the opening bits of Double Agent were closest to Chaos Theory, my favorite game in the series. Conviction might be more your thing since it’s more supportive of combat.
Thanks for the information! I’ll consider the Conviction game.
I didn’t much like Double Agent either. I liked the original and chaos theory though, but double agent just didn’t sit right with me. Conviction is just a shooter xD so is black list, but they’re fun shooters.
There are two versions of Double Agent, the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube version which is apparently very similar to Chaos Theory, and then the 360/PS3/PC version which is what started the move to what Splinter Cell has become.
i.e. Not Splinter Cell. Blacklist was well received though, in terms of balancing the Conviction and Chaos Theory playstyles. Once it’s on a sale I’ll probably give it a play.
Red Faction collection is on sale for a VERY reasonable price. 5 bucks. Is it worth getting? I’ve never played any of the red factions except the first one, which I never finished.
Guerilla is ok in my book. Can’t say anything about Armageddon though, I never even finished the tutorial mission because the default fov(45) gave me nausea and the only fix around didn’t work with the latest version.
Red Faction 1 is pretty good for an old shooter. Armageddon was very fun.
I’ve never played Guerrilla, but most people seem to think it’s the best of the series.
Well, it’s only six bucks. I think I’ll pick it up.
Perfect Dark Zero - Xbox 360, for 1.99 USD (plus tax).
I got the Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on the 3DS virtual console a couple days ago. I will be getting Oracle of Ages as soon as I finish Oracle of Seasons.
Got purchased [EDIT: deleted - for me] not long ago: “Quake III: Team Arena”. Cannot wait to get my hands on it!
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection for the PS3 that also comes with an artbook.
The Last of Us Remastered US version for the PS4. Because I heard the PAL version multiplayer is censored.
Risen 3: Titan Lords through GamersGate.
Doesn’t unlock on Steam until the 16th for me - doesn’t bother me too much though, haven’t finished Risen 2 yet.
EDIT: for some reason it unlocked on the 14th anyway .__.
I happened to find a copy of Crimson Skies on PC and Rainbow Six: Covert Ops Essentials for $5 each when I was at a used game shop buying a replacement Xbox. Crimson Skies in particular was a total steal since Amazon sells it used for nearly $40.
Covert Ops Essentials yay
I got both discs in individual cases for $2 and I haven’t really played them but I know the music is perfect. Training doesn’t seem to work at all, it just crashes on startup no matter what.
Borderlands 2, in STEAM, for 4.99 USD (plus tax).
What the hell… FEAR 3, on the cheap for C$2.87 for boxed retail.
Anyone else play this game? What’d yuh think?
