What Game Did You Play Today?

But the difference is that you’ve made an impression. You just gotta let things simmer down around here, and you just hafta kinda lay low until people don’t look to flame you so much. It’s the internet, such is the way of its inhabitants haha

Edit: tried some more Project Zomboid. I’m still on the fence about wether I like it or not, but it’s getting better for me. I just wish it were open to a multiplayer kind of idea. Unless it is, and I’m just stupid and haven’t gotten it working.

Caught some more Pokémon and defeated the 2nd gym leader in Pokémon X. I am now on my way towards the 3rd gym leader.

It was a stupid and overused excuse for a joke when they did it, too.

More Freelancer. I love Trent’s logs, particularly because they give you something to read during those long voyages.

Finished Resident Evil 4 HD and overall it’s was an excellent gaming experience. It’ took me some time to get use to the tank controls and the fact you can’t buy ammo but as the game progressed I realized how perfectly balanced those things were with the overall gameplay. The only thing that bugged me a bit is that the game seemed to drag on near the end but just for the sake of it.Also finished Separate Ways and Ada Assignment DLCs which were decent enough but didn’t bring anything new to the table…they just made me confused about the context of the Ada Assignment after finishing Separate Ways first.

I need to keep track of what games are in humble bundle sales.
Was going to buy the weekly one, but realised I already had Guacamelee from a previous bundle.

Also have FEAR 2 which I know some of you people like, so I might give that a whir. Also have 3 but if its my understanding most people didn’t like that game, right?
OT - I played some Guacamelee. Little tricky getting used to the controls but it’s pretty good and I love the art style.

War Thunder.

MiG-3 and Bf-109 get compressed.

P-38, notorious for this trait, DOES NOT.

WHAT IS THIS SHIT, GAYJIN.

Notorious for the trait of being uncompressed? I’m sorry?

Well the alpha model wore a helmet I believe haha I took it as one of those “roll with it” kinda things. Like how Freeman manages to live without a helmet in a place where everybody there is wearing a helmet. We just accept it.

I just finished Freelancer. The ending felt rather abrupt, but beyond that, it’s an awesome game.

Playing a bit of Dishonored: The knife of Dunwall, since I’ve had the DLC for ages and just never played it.

Getting used to the feel of Daud’s blink. I like the ‘instant’ feel of teleporting (Corvo kind of travels at high speeds, Daud actually feels like he dissapears and reappears). Just the sound and time stop slip me up a bit.

Played some more Pokemon X.

Lost World Origin for Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl

The beta maps are beautiful, but holy shit the first underground area (agroprom) is so hard it’s terrifying

I’ve literally spent a half hour searching through it for my quest, running into enemies that are way too good for my equipment, running out of ammo, and I had to use up a flashlight battery because it was running low

Freespace 2, with FSO installed.

Holy shit, the beam turrets on the capital ships make the most utterly stunning sound.

I always liked to think he was wearing one, due to the sound you make when you take falling damage. It always seemed like it was a sharp breath through a helmets mouthpiece. Oh well, games are games haha

Compression on aircraft. Beyond certain speed, your control surfaces become nearly unresponsive/will have much less authority, depending on the severity.

For the MiG-3, compression starts at 500km/h, and your elevator suddenly has about a third (my estimate) of it’s effectiveness below that speed.

For the Bf-109s, compression begins with 600km/h, but isn’t as severe as the MiGs from my observation. (Historical pilots notes apparently say something about never dropping speed below 300 during dogfights though. Leaves you with 300km/h window for uncompressed maneuvers)

For the P-38 Lightning (before the J version, AFAIK), your elevator should become nearly useless in dives in excess of 700-800km/h. From my experience with ACTUAL flight sims, it should be a LOT more severe than 109’s.

Yet in WT, P-38Gs have no trouble doing a full pull at 700km/h.

Isn’t that because the American planes are energy fighters? Being able to go really fast is basically their thing.

No, it’s fucking NOT.

The Lightning is supposed to get compressed, so it will if they want to make something resembling a simulator.

The Lightning had notorious problems with compression in high speed dives that were only even close to being solved towards the end of the war.

And as that very article claims, the P-38G is an early 1943 aircraft, and as the very part of the article you are referring to claims, the improvements in this department began in late 1943/early 1944 with P-38J. They also did NOT fully counteract compressibility problems. As you may test in War Thunder, the Lightning will pull up exactly the same at any airspeed (tested 400, 600, 800, 900 in km/h).

Convinced yet?
It’s NOT behaving as it should.
