What Game Did You Play Today?

More Orcs Must Die! I really enjoy playing this game right now.

Started into Yakuza 3. I really want to get the first two because the plot seems amazingly convoluted and deep. But the game is just plain damn fun on top of this, because I got my character drunk on expensive sake and spent twenty minutes roaming around Okinawa beating the shit out of thugs.

That would be great. I heard rumors about a team making it once or twice, but I don’t think anything ever came of those projects.

Unreal was pretty good, but at times the level design was incredibly frustrating and dull. The worst were repetitive, non-linear levels that get you horribly lost, full of locked doors and switches that never tell you what door they open.

A few times I’ve gone back to replay the game only to ragequit an hour later.

More Borderlands. I tried playing co-op, but I can only seem to find people 30 levels below or above me. It does honestly become fun when you’re running around in the Rust Commons; something about that place is a lot more interesting than other locations.

I think the game itself is probably one of the best I’ve very played (I’m sure I’ve said this before in this thread and others) but it isn’t flawless. For instance, it could really use some sort of objective tracker, be it a compass or whatever. I didn’t find it repetitive, but I do agree with how difficult it could be to navigate from objective to objective, particularly if you’ve never beaten it before.

If someone, somewhere were to remake it, the few problems with it could be fixed without distorting the game at all. I’d pay big bucks for a remake to be honest.

I think Epic might’ve completely moved on from the Unreal universe. Still, would be cool either a remake or a proper sequel. Hell, get some other team to do it if needed.

They should make it a twist, kinda like Bioshock Infinite: An Unreal game set on a seemingly unrelated series of planets, but as the last third of the game begins, your ship is unexpectedly caught in the gravity of an alien planet, and you escape from the wreckage to find yourself on Na Pali once again.

Playing the Kidnap! mission in Thief 2, Cavador is a bitch and a half to find and kidnap

Europa Universalis IV

My lovely Ottoman empire’s age of expansion is over, I fear and Russia and Spain are making a point to shove that fact in my face. I’ve vassal’d a few provinces in order to more hastily spread Eastern Orthodoxy, whereupon I will annex them and the would-be Tub-O’-Rebels will be satiated.

If I could, I would. I’m just hoping that with all these reboots, unreal might see a little reinvention.

On Topic: Tomb Raider. It’s like Prince Of Persia with more weapons and a female lead

Yes, but you feel like a dirty whore for using anything other than the bow.

Got Quelaag’s Fury Sword in Dark Souls. Also want to get the Lifehunt Scythe. Don’t know how I got Priscilla’s soul. I don’t remember killing her.

Pretty much xD I basically use other weapons only on barricades and the occasional grenade launcher when I’m surrounded.

Far Cry 3 had the same effect on me. You start to master long-distance archery, then you have to grab a firearm and everything feels wrong.

In Tomb Raider, I barely looked back at the bow when I crafted suppressors for my pistol and AR. Plus there’s that survival power where you can stealth kill with the climbing pick, so that’s nice. The last act in particular is very gun-heavy. Bows just weren’t practical when I had ten guys scripted to find and shoot at me.

Just started playing Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2. It’s really cool playing as Elizabeth instead of Booker like the main game and Burial at Sea Episode 1.

I finished Episode 2 just hours ago. The end was…shocking. :’(

STALKER Clear Sky with the 2014 (compilation of mods) mod.

With the bugfixes the compilation provides, the more lethal weapons (and the excellent new models and animations) I’m actually quite enjoying Clear Sky.

The Zone still feels much too heavily populated compared to SoC and CoP (though in CoP it felt a little too empty without mods as opposed to SoC) but still, I’m having a lot of fun, the story and voice acting is much better than CoP’s, and the gunplay feels very satisfying.

I played Titanfall for the first time.

If you have no interest in watching five and a half hours of me playing Titanfall, here’s what it boils down to:

  1. No dedicated servers and no options beyond matchmaking and parties. No mod tools on launch either. Fucking EA.
  2. No single player component- campaign is multiplayer, and it’s required to unlock the other two Titans. The dialog is HAM INCARNATE and the plot is irrelevant.
  3. Campaign has only two types of games in the story, which feels like a total grind. Because it is.
  4. Tutorial doesn’t cover pilot to Titan antics enough, but is otherwise comprehensive.
  5. Capture the Flag is at current my favorite mode. The balance between the pilots fragile free running antics and summoning titans to guard or escort the flag is quite refreshing after being subjected to the campaign.
  6. Performance is inconsistent- some maps will run quite easily, others with fog effects will lag even my quad core beast. Needs some tweaking to be more consistent.
  7. Being able to tank desant on friendly mechs makes for some fun times.
  8. Dropping a titan on another titan never gets old.
  9. A truly distressing amount of people don’t use microphones. Communication is the only way to pull off any decent tactics, so this is an absolute travesty.
