What Game Did You Play Today?

Updated and played NS2, finally tried out the “Combat” gamemode mod.

I just don’t get it, I mean it’s okay, the leveling up and buying upgrades with XP is kinda cool, the actual gameplay is just one giant clusterfuck that has no flow or anything.

I mean I can see why some people like it, but there were a ton of people who were like “I’m not getting NS2 unless Combat is in it”, and it just doesn’t make sense to me.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Started from scratch for the seventh time.
If you please excuse me:

GLAAAAAAAAARGHGRHA

After my 360 decided to brick on me with red rings, I decided to go back to my original Xbox collection.

I’ve been playing Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction for most of the day. One of the best games on the original Xbox, bar none. There’s so much crazy shit you can do. You can destroy virtually every building in the game as long as you have enough munitions to do it, and there’s a varied arsenal in play to let you pick your own playstyle. Plus, Peter Stormare.

I’m still pretty much just playing Oblivion, although I think this particular binge might finally be coming to an end. I’m pining for Bastion a bit lately.

Just finished Rock of Ages. Pretty fun game, though it was pretty short. It was an indie game though. Wonder if there were mod tools to make your own levels.

Haven’t played yet, but this mod is out

I know what I’m reinstalling

Also holy balls upgraded weapon particle effects:

Played the Crysis demo today.

It didn’t run perfectly - and it kinda looks like shit with the graphics turned down - but it’s still a damn fun game. I might wait to buy it, though.

Wait till it’s on sale or something, then get the bundle that comes with warhead

Played XCOM again. But it cheated on me. No literally, the motherfucker spawed 3 mutons out of thin air and right in the middle of my tightly packed squad.

Don’t be like that XCOM.

Sounds like you got the infamous teleporter bug. I find it hilarious that the patch they rolled out to fix it seems to be causing it for people who hadn’t had it. I didn’t get that even once my whole first playthrough on Normal, but my second playthrough on Classic with the new patch is seeing it happen quite often. Gah.

POE, The more I play, the more I like…

Anarchy Online.

A lot of it.

I’ve been playing some Skyrim mods recently.

Moonpath to Elsweyr was very good. The airship was particularly neat, but pretty disappointing in how much wasted potential it has. You can’t take it back to Skyrim, and the only airship battle in the game was basically just a battle on foot. I kinda wanted midair ship-to-ship sniping duels.

Finally got Path of Exile to update. I’m a thief/rogue (whatever that class is) and at level 5. Have some pretty cool spell gem things.

Played more Path of Exile, level 23 templar now, got a pretty nifty 2h sword with bonus to damage and a 1.50 attack speed.

Most of my little game time this weekend was Persona 3 Portable related.

Been replaying all the Max Payne games, am now on 3.

This is probably my favourite straight third person shooter. 3 is absolutely brutal, and I never have or will understand the fanboys hatred for it. I love how ‘shootdodging’ actually fucks up when you hit stuff now. I did a dive over some benches but caught my legs, I did a rather undignified roll and got shot in the face! AWESOME!

In fact I’d go so far as to say the second is the weakest of the series, and that is just awesome in itself simply for being able to watch Address Unknown and Dick Justice.

I happen to have a 3500+ word review on why Max Payne 3 is not a good Max Payne game but a serviceable shooter with major problems, and why Max Payne 2 is better. Sounds like we’re on opposite sides on this one XP

Played some ME3 MP today. They added some new stuff, like challenges and Platinum difficulty, but they still haven’t added text chat or FoV slider. Motherfucking douchebags.

Also, Normand Corbeil, Heavy Rain’s OST composer, has died from cancer at 56. :frowning:

Ha! Is it your review? I’ll read it, show me the link!

Gutted to hear that Maxey.
