What Game Did You Play Today?

Did you hear bad things about the game, or about the PC port? (Also, are you playing the PC port?)

I’ve never heard particularly bad things about the game, but the port is one of the worst ports I’ve ever seen. I got about 15 minutes in after doing a bunch of tweaking and installing 3rd party software like RivaTuner before I just gave up.

Now that I have a gamepad, I might need to try it again.

I’ll be honest, I never had an issue with the Dead Space port besides the vsync issue which is easily solved. I was impressed by how well it ran and how good it looked at the time.

Found this video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MiRt43gVU0

Man, that game seems to be pretty cool. It’s well over an hour of video but I was interested enough to watch the whole thing.

Never played those games (not a big superhero kinda guy)

It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of comics or not, the mechanics and level progression in those games are fantastic. Get Arkham Asylum at least, you won’t regret it.

Paranautical activity.

The fuckin’ homing shots, mate. They’re not fun.

What issues do you have with it? I’ve got the game on steam, and the only 2 issues I’ve got atm is the FoV, which is still kinda too close at max and hurts my eyes, and how sluggish everything feels on a keyboard and mouse.

Using a gamepad is easier for me and feels smoother (Idk why, it’s the same with Alan Wake for me), but I suck at using a controller to shoot so I’m still hesitant to use it.

I had the same trouble. The FOV was totally screwy, and the mouse and keyboard controls felt, yeah, sluggish for lack of a better word. Dead Space 2 is one of my favorite games, so I wanted to go back and play the first one. I gave up after 20 minutes.

I had the sluggish KB+M (vsync issue), narrow FOV, and off the top of my head the other thing I remember is that all of the on-screen tips showed controller buttons rather than KB+M controls, which was obnoxious.

Just finished the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures.

More Space Station 13.

One of our engineers was grossly incompetent. Over the course of several shifts, he nearly overloaded the supermatter engine twice and flooded most of engineering with plasma.

On the last shift, unfortunately, he was the only engineer online. He tried to start up the engine and it immediately overloaded. He then also failed to eject it into space, and the entire core went up.

Everyone on the station had to be treated for radiation poisoning, and we had to deal with widespread blackouts, mass hallucinations, and at least one crew member going insane.

After that was all good and done, we had to repair engineering. It was surprisingly moody.

Paranautical Activitaaaaaa-wait what the fuck

That developer shouldn’t have threatened to kill Gaben over the game being mislabeled as an early access game.

Probably shouldn’t have threatened to kill him period.

Tried some Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 multiplayer (GOG.com Galaxy test). Pretty fun, but the few available servers were a bit on the laggy side (~450ms…).

Maybe I’ll find some less distant servers if I try playing during the day rather than at 1am :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown since I got it for free from the GMG/CVG promo thingy for the Golden Joystick awards. I went into it with minimal expectations, since I’m usually not one for games like XCOM, but I was utterly blown away by how much fun it is. I can now completely understand why people like XCOM so much.

I’m definitely going to finish it, might even get Enemy Within since the game came with an 80% off voucher for it.

Am near ending of the Battlefield 3, and I like it. In some ways it looks better than Crysis 2, in others - not. Got the game as an On The House deal at Origin.

The campaign was so dark, glitchy, and had such an awful story though. Maybe it’s less painful when you don’t pay for it. Granted, I got it as part of a bundle with better stuff, but good God did I hate Battlefield 3.

Well, I found it fun in the way that while visually it tried to be a real life video, gameplay wise it was still an easily seen through game-ish game. I would have payed the money it costs now if I would have known that it is that good to me. But I have never played any CoD games, and have nothing to compare it.

Yeah, the BF3 campaign is heavily informed by the Modern Warfare games, it’s just far less stable. Still got that bug with the soldiers glitching through the doorway even two years after the game launched. They really just didn’t care.
