What Game Did You Play Today?

TF2 - then rage-quitted after being stair-stabbed by one of the three spies, the red team had, for the fifth time… ._."

The ‘funny’ part was the fact that said spies were always running around like Lemmings (or a threesome spy-cluster of some sort) and each would jump after the other, trying to get the stab.

Unfortunately, with three (3) spies jumping after you, attempting a backstab, you are probably going to be the one with the shorter end of stick.

Dear Esther.
Bought it during the summer sale, didn’t come around playing it until now.
I’ve got to say, taking the game as it is, “a painting”, it was a wonderful experience. The music really fit, the sound effects sounds so natural and the map design was outstanding. Even the story was Heartrending.

Currently in the middle of the ME3 DLC.
I had completely missed the fact that it was released, then accidentally spoiled the whole thing reading TVTropes, so I decided to reinstall the game and play it.

I never got around to any of the ME3 DLC actually.

The game was fun, to be sure. But I dunno if I feel like revisiting it right now…

After finishing Black Mesa, I got around to finishing HL2 and the episodes. Been playing EP2 lately.

Been playing a lot of Skyrim lately. It’s a bit much for my computer, so I had to turn the graphics settings way down. It’s perfectly playable, but it gets quite laggy at times. What’s odd is, dungeons seem to be the worst; I can climb a mountain, stare at half the map at once, and my framerate will still be fine, but a small room in a fort causes the FPS to stutter to a crawl.

The good thing is, even with the graphics set so low, it still looks fairly spectacular.

Also I can’t get enough of this game. It’s amazing.

Half-Life 2. Ugh, forgot how fucking hard it is to actually see the crosshair.

But it’s got big orange bars on either side of it.

I just enabled that through the console since it was off by default for me.

And the crosshair is still hard to see when you are outside and trying to shoot people with the pistol

That’s the Quick Info crosshair. It’s kinda glitchy for me sometimes.

I liked the original HL2 version, that was just some subtle rounded brackets around the crosshair. They seem to have gotten rid of it with that patch, though.

^ Me too, incidentally. The fucking Apache fight at the cliffs is kicking my ass, though. Guess I’ll have to wait for another AI bug…

Decided to long-range arty with the Tank Destroyer today. Pretty effective with HE rounds. Granted, I was going for infantry kills. Trying to peg a tank with an AP round at long-range is a fucking headache.

105+ hours into Baten Kaitos Origins, and I’ve finally made it to the final world. This is officially, the longest game I’ve ever played. Before, 90 hours was my max time (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Odin Sphere, Okami – respectively). Never before had I stayed in a single game world for this amount of time.

If you can believe it, I actually haven’t gone beyond Inbound in BMS yet because I’ve been sucking so much time into this game. Call me crazy, but I only play one story based game at a time, and I started BK before the mod was released. It was my intention to beat it in two weeks before the release, but that didn’t quite happen. . .obviously.

^ I happen to have Baiten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. I didn’t really get into it. Is Origins good/better than EWLO?

I’m curious, is there any way to get Black Mesa’s HEV hud and Crosshair(s) in HL2 and it’s episodes?

I suppose after a hundred hours or so, if I didn’t like it by now I would have quit, either that or I am a gluton for punishment (not sarcasm!).

I believe you had mentioned you had the first game a while back, when we had a small discussion about the card battling system. I do have two points to make here. I skipped Eternal Wings, because I decided to experience the story chronologically, as Origins implies that it’s a prequel. In fact it takes place at least a decade before the first game. That being said, because I haven’t experienced the first game, I wouldn’t know how the two would stack up against each other. I would imagine since Origins was the second to be released, that it would have some considerable improvements over its predecessor, especially in the combat system. I did read on GameFAQS that they had made quite a few changes to the card system alone.

From my experience, the game has been quite fun, and I’m enjoying the story quite a bit. Though after a hundred hours or so, it does start to be wearisome, as I’ve level grinded my characters to the point where only the bosses offer any kind of threat. It’s not that it’s boring, but because I’ve done it so many times, it just doesn’t offer the same excitement as the first twenty hours. Now it’s blah, another battle with peons.

Not to discourage you, but if you ever get into either BK, prepare for a long haul. Though I suppose that is to be expected with most turn based JRPGs.

^ The longest time I’ve spent with a JRPG is probably Persona 4. 134 hours 37 minutes of pure awesome.

I’ve never had the slightest bit of trouble with that fight, but everyone keeps saying that it’s really hard.

I managed to get it to flames a couple times now but it just refuses to die. And it spams rockets that always hit me no matter how solid my cover.
