Bad Company 2 again. I managed to get 1070 combat points and a pin worth 5000 points in one round, which is pretty good for an average ping of 500.
…That’s half a second. How did you survive?
Long rounds and not giving a shit about K/D ratios.
I can’t enjoy online gaming with ping that bad.
Just got win #50, yay 500,000 credits, garage slot, 1 day of premium account and skilled crew for when I eventually get the standard M24 Chaffee.
Same here, most (action) games tend to become frustrating experiences with ping over ~200ms (and/or packet loss, ugh).
'Straya.
League, 180-200 ping (Oce servers are toxic as hell for ones mental health and I have friends on NA anyway), and that’s generally good compared to most games.
Dragon Nest NA I get over 200 ping, and SEA I get 130-160, so PvP is insanely difficult.
Blade and Souls combat is pretty good for an MMORPG, but I took more hits than I’d like or had trouble reacting because of slightly higher ping. That, and Tencent purposely increases your ping (or so I hear), so instead of getting below 150, I get nearly 300.
Sucks to be us sometimes…
What I played: Devil May Cry 4. Holy hell I am terrible at this game, and the constantly shifting camera angles throw me off a bit.
Dead Trigger 2 is actually pretty fun, despite not being able to shoot past 10 metres. The animations and sounds are nearly perfect, and surprisingly, the autofire function used by default is actually okay. After taking the time to adapt, it gets easy to take out zombies while deploying a boom chicken/grenade/meds/whatever.
SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROS
OR SOMETHING
I DON’T KNOW
IT’S FUN
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. Having a great time playing this game.
Started playing Super Metroid for the first time. It surprised me how similar Metroid Prime is to it. I don’t know why though, it really shouldn’t have - I mean after all when Zelda moved to 3D it followed essentially the same formula as the 2D games. Anyway, really fun.
League of Legends again. Been playing some Riven top and that’s been fun.
Always fun when someone is pushing you to tower 24/7, then rages in all chat when you get the jungler to come kill them for being so over extended.
Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor. The game is fucking fantastic and addictive as hell. The combat is just soooo satisfying and the Nemesis system is the best thing since sliced bread…I m not kidding,it’s really revolutionary and I don’t think I’ll be able to enjoy other open world games after this…“thanks” Monolith.
Shadow of Mordor is really good. The nemesis system goes a long way towards making enemies feel unique, considering any enemy can become a “character”. It clearly borrows from Assassin’s Creed and the Arkham games, but it’s so much fun and original enough that I don’t really mind.
KI bought The Last of Us Remastered for my PS4 a week back and have just finished it.
TL;DR BEST GAME EVER HANDS DOWN.
Holy. Mother. Of. Fucking. Jesus.
Let me preface this by saying I didn’t expect anything too diverse from a regular old zombie story, though I’d heard great things. Naughty Dog fucking blew me away, I felt like I was playing a game that was a book that was a TV show all at the same time.
The gameplay was stellar. The combat was so satisfying, I felt great with everything I did. Be it a stunning melee bash where you wholesale whooped a hunters ass or caved in the skull on an infected human, a headshot with a bow or a rifle, or a well placed smoke bomb/Molotov/bomb that led to utter annihilation of every enemy there, I felt like I was there. I felt immersed and engaged thoroughly, with every movement feeling real to me.
The story was phenomenal. It had its share of zombie genre cliches, but it delivered them so damn well that while predictable at times, it still had me staring in awe, sadness, shock, and a plethora of other emotions.
The voice acting was perfect. Troy Baker delivered a damn fine performance, as well as every other voice actor present. The characters VA’s brought amazing life to the entire game.
Graphically, the visuals were stunning. Even on PS3 (from what I’ve seen) they were pretty good. On PS4, it’s like stepping into the world at times, or watching a live action movie even.
The only things I can say against it is that, at times, it was rather predictable. I feel that while it was a very well done story, it did fall into the zombie genre cliche slightly at times. The only other thing that is a complaint is that some aspects of the story didn’t feel built upon too vastly when I felt they should have.
All in all, I give this game a 9.5/10, and it has taken the number one spot on my list of favorite games of all time.
^ Good game, The Last of Us. I really wish that first encounter with the Clickers wasn’t such a pain in the ass though. I was stuck there for hours. HOURS with an enemy that’s too hard to sneak up on and can’t be reliably countered without upgrades that you get later in the game.
I agree, but I kinda enjoyed the difficulty the clickers presented.
However, I hate armored enemies. Cause even when you obviously shoot an unprotected area on their face, it doesn’t kill them.
Also, I kinda wish there was some more enemy diversity amongst the infected. Idk how, but just a couple more varieties I guess.
Took you that long to figure out that you need to fool them with sound? Throw a brick to lure them to a place and burn them with molotovs.
I finished the first four campaigns of Left 4 Dead 2. It doesn’t take long to become alright at, but I still fail to remember that killing Boomers with the crowbar is a very bad idea. As fun as the gameplay is, most guns feel underpowered (with the exception of the SPAS-12 and M16) and if you have a good melee weapon (ie most if not any of them) you’re essentially unstoppable.
