What Game Did You Play Today?

Finished Crysis 2.

I typically suck at FPS’s so I played a lot of it stealth unless I absolutely had to shoot stuff but the gameplay was really nice so even when I did get caught or had no option but to use stuff like C4, it was really enjoyable.
Overall just a beautiful game. Visually great, like the story, the soundtrack was 10/10, on point. Another steam game off the list.

Over my recent vacation I played and finished Gunman Clive and Steamworld Dig (both on 3DS).

Gunman Clive is a fun little platformer. Took me an hour and a half to finish. Little replay value imo but well-made and a cool hand-drawn Western artstyle. 8/10

SteamWorld Dig is an excellent Metroidvania/mining game. Took a little over 7 hours. Very colorful and vibrant with addicting gameplay. Will probably replay it on my Steam copy that I have. 9/10

After 8 months away I picked up Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D again. I had gotten stuck trying to get into the first dungeon and now I’ve finished the first two dungeons. Excellent so far.

Now that I’m back to my PC it’s time to get back to the Fallout 4 DLC.

Doom Beta, it sucked.

The reason for that is the loadouts they put in the muitplayer instead of just picking up weapons in the ervironment is terrible.
And the best part is only 2 weapons limit you’re going to carry.
And as for the Rocket launcher, and Super shotgun, they are overpowerd, and only weapons that you’re gonna use in entire muitplayer experience, instead of the other weapons that pretty much useless , making the muitplayer uninteresting at all imo.

I made it to the Artorias of the Abyss DLC in Dark Souls for the first time.

On NG+.

I’ve made a mistake.

These guardians, though.

Got back into some Rayman Origins. Forgot that I really enjoyed this game. I’ve nearly finished the 4th world so I’m going back to the previous ones and 100%'ing them. Some levels I just half assed and didn’t get all the electoons, some levels I didn’t get the medal for high Lum collection and then most/all levels I never bothered doing for the speed trial for (which gives an electoon and a nice trophy which doesn’t contribute to 100%ing for some reason like medals do).

I’ll make sure to pick up Rayman Legends when it’s on sale.

I grabbed Dungeon of the Endless on sale; it’d been on my wishlist. I’m enjoying it so far. It’s maybe a MOBA? I’ve never played one before.

Rogue-Like Dungeon-Defense

As someone new to FTL who also had barely watched any gameplay it’s fucking brutal friends

Getting boarded or getting a fire in the Oxygen department = death sentence

I spent all day playing more Morrowind. I still say the combat is broken, but I’m determined to see the whole of the game through before I start Oblivion. Damn cliffracers are brutal in packs.

Aw man I haven’t played FTL in forever! You been playing the normal version or the Advanced edition? Lanius are not pushovers in the latter.
If you want my advice, depending on the ship you use, you should always invest in cloaking devices, and as a rule, anything with “Engi” in the name is something you want.

I have Advanced but they recommend to not use Advanced content until I’m experienced.
Also I have no idea how long it’s going to take to get a ship, period. Kestrel A is all I have.

Getting other ships is a game of chance, basically. Personally, if I remember right, I only have a couple of extra ships, and I only got them because I was lucky enough to encounter the random event that grants them as a reward.
The Engi ship is a pretty easy one to go for first, I think. Just be super nice to Engis!
In general. Engis are good. I like them. Good nanobot people.

I now have the Engi ship. I read up on the random events too. Hopefully I can get a Stealth cruiser soon, I hear Stealth B is practically unstoppable if you know what you’re doing.

I finished up Deus Ex: Human Revolution. A good game overall, although the final boss suffered from Mass Effect 2 “what is this boss and why do I care about it”-syndrome. I didn’t get the Pacifist achievement, even though I’m pretty sure I didn’t kill anybody.

I really liked human revolution, though I have to agree with you about the ending.

Playing dark souls 1 for the first time. What a weird mix of extreme hatred and pure joy.

Ahahaha.

The joy will prevail.

Just don’t mess with the mushroom dudes. They will lay you the fuck out.

There was an Anime game sale on Steam so I grabbed BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and Hyperdimension Neptunia: Re-Birth 1. The former is an ARC System Works game so ofc it’s ballbustingly difficult but has quite a good story mode.
HDN is a wonderful, gut bustingly funny fourth wall busting sendup of RPGs, and really damn fun to play to boot. The combat system isn’t all that in-depth but it’s different in feel to a lot of games I’ve played.

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl.

This game is mean. I get a PDA message from a loner asking for help. I go into the building and see him lying on the ground next to 2 dead bandits. “Man this would really suck if a bloodsucker came along”. Aaaaaand then came the roaring sound and I turn around to a pair of glowing eyes. Fuck. you.
I actually got the stupid key thing I need for Lab x-18 but I need to go back to barkeep and sell my shit. The bandit base had an armoury or some shit with lots of valuables.

I finally decided to try out PosChengband at the recommendation of a friend.

This is the first roguelike I’ve ever played.

I can already feel how frustrating this is going to be for him.

edit: apparently this was a terrible starting point.

Overwatch open beta today, I’m having a lot of fun. Things are much simpler to understand than I thought they’d be, and I like Phara’s playstyle a lot. It’s like everything I wanted TF2’s soldier to be but was never skilled enough to achieve.

That said, I cannot stand a single voiced character’s performance in this game. Winston is iffy, but that’s still far from great.

If there isn’t a mod made that turns Tracer into Diavolo, I’m going to be very disappointed

More Stalker: SoC.

In Lab x-18 atm. All my instincts are telling me to close the game, why am I doing this to myself.
