What Game Did You Play Today?

Bloodshot, and your favourite?
Nolf or Nolf 2?
For me Nolf1.
Been playing them both for years.

This is exactly why I hate it when games only hire ~2 voice actors to do the bad guys, and they do it in a fake, nonsensical “bad guy henchman” voice at that. I want to feel like these guys I’m fighting are actual people, not robots forced to go through a set of waypoints! Uncanny valley and all that nonsense.

It’s kind of disappointing that so few FPS games ever have you overhearing conversations anymore, or if they do they seem to have pretty mediocre writing

Honestly, I’m not sure, but I plan to replay NOLF 1 soon. I remember the first game having more exotic and memorable set pieces, so much so that despite only having played it once on the PS2 several years ago I remember it so vividly.

Though NOLF 2 generally has quite improved stealth gameplay and shooting mechanics (and multiplay, people still play both games apparently), and it’s no slouch either when it comes to level design, although it definitely plays it safer then the first (despite that, it still has more unique and memorable level design and moments then most FPS games seem to, a lot of the levels are fairly open ended too).

I almost feel like it’s a crime that Monolith hasn’t really put so much variety into the levels in their later games.

A bit of Dawn of War 2 Retribution. Then some Space Marine; though having not played it in a while I had forgotten how to play and got pwnd horribly. Then I moved onto some Empire Total War.

What I have been up to.

I just finished Hitman Absolution. I don’t see why people say it’s a terrible game. The level design could be more Hitman-y but it didn’t go full linear tps. A lot of the levels had many different ways to take targets out, when you were given a target. Hopefully the next game goes back to the sandbox and target levels of the other games. Also, it’s a damn good looking game and a pretty good port.

the thing is blood money is literally the best game ever made

BioShock Infinite, I’ve finished it like eight times by now but it’s so magnificent, I just can’t stop playing.

Doom.

Yet more Warframe. WHERE IS MY FUCKING BANSHEE HELMET?!? ARGH (goes to rage topic thread)

Tera Online. Quite good, despite being a Korean MMO lookalike. Also, it weights fucking 35GBs, so prepare your internet connection.

I’ve been meaning to try out both Neverwinter and SW:TOR, but I haven’t gotten around to either of them yet. Played plenty of Star Trek Online, though.

Playing Metro Last Light finally. Runs pretty well on my card and looks really good. Keeps crashing for some reason every once in a while though  .

Also, your character has a shadow but you still can’t see the rest of your body.

Still Doom. At the rate I went through the first three episodes, I thought I’d finish it yesterday, but “Thy Flesh Consumed” is fucking brutal.

NOLF 1. The stealth mechanics are a little more in-depth then 2’s (materials you walk on make a difference) but enemies are a bit too quick to notice you. 2’s stealth is definitely a lot more polished.

Still, it works, and it’s fun, though pretty difficult. Gunplay is still great, and pretty much everything is top notch.

Up to the second mission where you have to help a German scientist defect from berlin.

Did you get the retail discs of these games, or has there been a digital release? I have NOLF1 retail, not GOTY, and I don’t have NOLF2.

No digital release. A friend of mine actually had it, turns out his dad bought the GOTY edition a while back but my friend never played it himself, so we tried it on his PC and I asked him if I could borrow the disc and made ISOs out of it. GOTY is also good since it installs and works fine on 64-bit OS, while retail I have heard you have to do a workaround.

NOLF 2, well, I’ve had since release.

UnityHQ, the NOLF community website also hosts downloads of the CDs for both games, though I’m not sure which edition they have there.

Incidentally, NOLF 1&2 have been among the most voted for wishlist games on GOG this week. 8032 votes and counting. If you have a GOG account, go vote for it!

i pirated nolf like a month ahgo but the graphics are kinda fucky on this computer

I love the set pieces in this game
