Is Battlefield 3 worth playing? Like, at all? I mean, BF4 is out already, so there will probably only be a committed few for multiplayer afterwards. And furthermore, is it worth having to hassle with installing Origin? I’d rather not have the thing lock me out of my games because I have imgburn on my computer. (I haven’t even used it yet- planning to burn some of my PS2 games to my hard drive to use with PCSX2, to reduce wear and tear on the discs themselves)
Finished Metro LL. Pretty good game. I don’t really like DLC in general but I’ll probably check out some of the DLC missions for the game later.
I think it’s pretty fun. I haven’t played City and only played Asylum for a couple of hours though so I can’t really say how it compares. It’s pretty difficult at parts too.
I played Asylum and most of City, but honestly, Arkham is my favorite. The Metroidvania feel of the game is far more appealing to me than the more generic open-world trappings of City.
Asylum was defo the most interesting to play through.
City’s world (and by extension, origins as well) just didn’t feel fleshed out enough to keep all the traveling too engaging and really stunted my enjoyment somewhat.
I really wish the new devs would’ve taken the detective mode a step further. It has some cool little nuances, but as it is it feels like batman is doing all the work for you instead of you actually figuring out things with the mode as a “guide”
Fixing the FOV in the first Borderlands takes a bit of fiddling around.
The Borderlands games aren’t really cel-shaded, they just have stylised textures and an outline effect (if I remember correctly there’s a way to disable it through an ini file, but it might just make things harder to see…)
Played some more Arkham City. Got some more Riddler trophies and I’m currently at the point where I have to get in the museum [COLOR=‘Black’]after destroying the communication jammers.
I will definitely get Arkham Asylum when it’s on sale. I’m not so sure about getting Arkham Origins though. I heard that it’s been experiencing some game-breaking bugs lately. Should I wait a little while before getting it?
I cant wait till they release the patch on PC for Batman Arkham Origins. Regarding the problems I heard about the PC version.
Yeah just wait until they fixed the problems from the game.
Will do. Better safe than sorry.
Most of the Arkham bugs are fixed. I just finished it and am working on my 100% encountering no major game breakers yet.
Fuck it, YOLO. Downloaded Origin, currently downloading Battlefield 3. God help me.
I’ll be there for your funeral…
Origin is fine, guys. It doesn’t interfere with anything on your computer and it just works as intended.
Christ, this blind hate for anything EA is a bit too much. They might be evil, but they’re not that evil.
To be fair, Origin is the product of the evil intentions (whatever that may mean) of EA. Rather than opt for the easiest user experience by using the same digital distribution as the rest of the world, they decided to force their own system onto the user just because they didn’t like losing a fraction of the control over the distribution of their games.
Sure, it may work as intended and not interfere with anything else on your system, that doesn’t take away the fact that it simply should not exist if EA truly cared about the customers (and neither should Uplay, for that matter).
So yea, EA is “evil” when it comes to Origin, as they clearly took the path of profit over the path of user experience. But then again… I can’t think of any company that puts customers before profit.
I don’t get that mentality. So Valve can have their own digital distribution platform and have their digital games only exclusive to Steam but since they do it much better than the competition, the others should just not even try and only publish on Steam? Yeah, sure, it would be more convenient to us gamers, but that would also be something people like to call a monopoly.
Furthermore, pretty much every publisher on PC sells their digital games on other stores (Amazon, Green Man Gaming, Get Games, etc) except for Valve, who keep their games tightly exclusive to Steam.
People like to have freedom of choice and as superior as Steam is compared to Origin or Uplay, it’s good to have any form of competition going on.
The whole funeral thing wasn’t a reference to Origin (after all, I have Mass Effect trilogy and Dead Space 1/3 on there, and I’m happy with it), but to Battlefield. I used to not trust EA for putting out crap games, but… There’s a few good there, and other companies also don’t hesitate putting out toilet paper quality games these days.
Yeah, I know I like to trash talk Origin a lot basically anywhere I go. I figured I might as well give it a proper trial run so I can trash talk it with some authority.
One thing I really don’t like is that there’s no library tab. You have to load your personal profile page just to get access to your games, which really is just shit design compared to Steam.
Gripe #2- Battlefield immediately wants me to sign up for Battlelog before anything else. I’m not even able to load the game to just play single player mode. WTF, EA?
What? I’ve been using Origin and there’s a perfectly good “my games” tab. You can even just right-click on the icon on your taskbar or start menu to get a list of games, the same as steam.
As EA once said themselves: “Competition drives innovativity.” We just need to wait until Origin is an actual competitor, and then Steam will be threatened and rocket forward much faster than it’s already doing.
