What Game Did You Play Today?

Finished a playthrough of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Installed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords + official patch, HQ media patches (leaving out the few poorly resized 1600x1200 videos), TSLRCM 1.8.3, M4-78EP 1.1, widescreen patch and UI fix.

…I think I’ll take a break before I start playing it :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Also edited the exe so that videos play in 1920x1080 instead of switching to 640x480, and used RAD Video Tools to pad out the few 4:3 video files to 16:9 so they don’t get cut off on the top and bottom.

For some reason the videos play at a much lower framerate in-game than they do in an external video player :-/

Spending the weekend getting around to playing my copy of Tomb Raider 2013 that I bought last March. Pretty good so far, although I wish the stealth was more viable.

Trying to get S ranks on all missions in GZ still. Got an S rank on another one of the missions, the one where you have to rescue Kojima. Tried the one where you have to meet the informant and got an A instead of S. Might have to rescue some prisoners in that one.

Also trying to find a good balance of raised resolution and lowered settings so I can get 60 fps while not having the game be a jaggy mess.

I’ve been playing GZ a lot lately, I may go for S ranks at some point.

Played Battlefield 3 Close Quarters on Hardcore (I’m not kidding. It’s LOTS of fun) while istening to this and this and of course this
I personally think BF3 is one of the best Multi-Player FPS. Campaign sux, so when my web breaks i just go play Black Mesa

Been playing Isaac Rebirth again.

For some reason the game refuses to give me unlocks and it’s really bloody annoying.

Sunless Sea.

This game is brilliant. The exploration and stories are riveting.

Persona 4 Golden. Managed to save Yukiko on Hard difficulty. Currently at a loss for how the hell I’m going to beat Contrarian King.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Mario Tennis (GBC) on my 3DS.

World of Tanks

Got the FCM 36 Pak 40 for free by completing a fairly easy mission.

First game with it… 7 kills, 933 damage dealt O_o

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords

Played through the tutorial, Peragus Station and most of Citadel Station over the last few days.

Seems to be working pretty well so far

EDIT: Finished Citadel Station, got through the Telos surface areas and Dxun, about to go to Onderon. Already level 15 and have reassembled HK-47 and built a lightsaber - don’t remember being able to do that this early in the game the last time I played it.

Battlefield 4.

I’ve been playing this game too much; I’ve already unlocked every single LMG and AR there is, and managed to get the mastery on the M249 already.

Even more amazingly, for the first time in any FPS I’ve ever played, my KDR is consistently above one.

I’ve been playing through some old source and goldsource mods. Including Mistake of Pythagoras, which is just as great as I always remember. I hadn’t played it in a few years, maybe.

Lately I’ve been playing my third run of Dishonored and playing through Half-Life 2: Update. I think I’m finally ready to start playing Deus Ex. I can’t really get into BioShock, on the other hand.

Portal, and I’ll probably play Portal 2 again, too.

I found a goofy bug where my portal projectiles hang around in the air when I fire the portal gun at this door.

Skyrim: Dragonborn

First time playing the Dragonborn DLC. I have finished the main quest and are doing a side quest at the moment. One where a scholar want your protection to explore a tomb, and apparently be his brain too.
There’s this etched tablet that this scholar believe is part of a riddle, how anyone could think it’s a riddle is beyond me, it’ could be seen as a puzzle since it’s more to do.
It clearly says “A sacrifice will bring you closer to that which you seek”. There’s fire pit beneath it. It is pretty straight forward, but apparently this scholar can’t figure out that a statement isn’t a riddle.

Honestly, this whole dungeon with this scholar stating obvious things at every puzzle made me feel as if I was playing an educational game for kids.

“If you hold the golden claw, the solution is in the palm of your hand.” WHAT COULD IT MEAN?

I’m playing Portal 2 again. The tone shift from Portal 1’s dark, menacing atmosphere to Portal 2’s slapstick goofiness is just as jarring as I remember. Portal 2 is still a decent game, but I wish Valve hadn’t gone this direction with it.

I personally like it. I don’t know why I like it or how it makes the game more interesting, all I know is I definitely like the mixture of goofiness and tense atmosphere compared to the more “set” theme of Portal 1.
Re-played the games about 2 months ago or so. I just love them so much because they get you thinking about what it was like before the story, what’s happened during your stasis and what’s going to happen after you leave, etc etc. Truly amazing games.

Game I played: Tera online. Haven’t played it in ages, I forgot how pretty it was. Though I’m a mage and it feels like all I do is kite backwards, so that can get a bit ‘meh’.

Eh, Portal was still dark in that it had loads of black humor all throughout.

Did you ever notice that, in the first section, every single one of the room pod things you pass is labelled “expired”?

Skyrim: Although an easy riddle, that was a riddle. This wasn’t a riddle. What made it feel so much of an educational game was lines pretty much like this “Three pillars, three walls. Perhaps they are connected somehow”, “Is it me, or are these platforms moving faster than the others?”
The fact that it was George Coe who delivered the lines didn’t help either since he’s not very good at delivering empathy in any of his work for Bethesda.

Portal: I am no big fan of portal. Overall, I like Portal 2 more than Portal 1. Mostly because of Co-Op.
Portal 1 had more emphasis on puzzle solving, which I like, compared to Portal 2’s “one place to put portal”-approach. Portal 1’s big downside is that it becomes boring after a while as the gameplay is rather static. Here Portal 2 deliver much more entertainment.
I do agree with you on the tone shift.

I’m getting close to finishing Dishonored for the third time, and I’ve been playing HL2 Update a bit, stopped at the start of Ravenholm. I’ll probably pick it back up soon, but I just didn’t find Ravenholm all that fun. I also tried Sniper Elite v2 again and had forgotten how fun it was.
