What Game Did You Play Today?

State of Decay

MGSV. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Can’t get enough, gameplay is an easy 10/10.

Except for how on-rails anything involving a chase is. When I was extracting Huey from the Russian base and the Metal Gear got called on me I tried to run up a road to safety but the game said I was “outside the mission area” and Ocelot forcibly aborted the chapter, forcing me to restart from THE VERY BEGINNING a mission I’d already invested an hour in.

GFDI Konami…

That said, when I fought Quiet I managed to knock down her stamina bar by a full half by dropping a uniform on her head. Considering her manner of dress, the amusing irony is not lost on me.

I had that same thing happen to me, the first spoiler tag, and i was pisssseeedddddd.

Are any chases in games ever not completely linear? I can’t think of any, barring running off in a random direction in an MMO to avoid whatever overleveled bitch I come across while aimlessly wandering about.

Eh, I mean, GTA kinda isn’t. You hafta go somewhere but during most cases in most of the games you kinda could go wherever to escape, and then you could take whatever route to your destination.

Of course even those have linear segments.

Edit: I’m playing Knife of Dunwall for the first time and honestly Dauds blink is so much more useful than Corvo’s, but confusing at first to master using.

Also since I just finished the main campaign I’m used to attacking the assassins and…kinda…killed the chick…

Oops-y.

The sound effect on it is really awesome too. I do love how every character has a different effect for their blink.

I loved playing as Daud, everything on him feels so solid. The blade, the wrist crossbow, the blink, they’re all so crisp.

I honestly like Corvo’s blade and crossbow better, but I agree on the rest. The wristbow is cool and all but since it’s tucked up into the left side of the screen it disorients me when I’m aiming for some reason, like I’m not sure it’ll actually hit (even tho it will). And the blad looks kinda like a long ass French knife from a kitchen.

I also like his rune/charm finding ability better, even tho the background noise is annoying haha it’s convenient cause you can just leave it running and do stuff normally. Otherwise tho I’m digging the DLC, but it’s too early to decide if I like it better than the main game.

It does look like a large kitchen knife, LOL. For some reason I really like that, it’s chunky and solid feeling. Not that Corvos blade is bad by any means. The wristbow makes me feel like spiderman at times, and really emphasises the “professional assassin” character Daud has, in that he doesn’t have to carry extra weight or tools like a handheld crossbow.

I only use dark vision/void gaze for brief bursts because it’s more fun that way, but its super nice to have the ability to see runes/charms without having to swap to the heart.

Played Payday 2. Update came out, is pretty cool. The new inventory (or, really, “loadout”) screen is pretty nifty.
New enemy is kinda okay, but also pretty eh. As long as you can afford to bring an RPG he becomes a non-issue pretty quickly.

Also finally got Cook Off and Meltdown done on Death Wish, with people. I’ve only ever really tried solo with bots (with the better bots mod because my internet is quite often not good enough to play with people).

Overall, pretty good [Pay]day today. (heh, geddit?).

Finished the Knife of Dunwall DLC with the low chaos ending. I kinda wish it were longer honestly. On to Brigmore Witches tomorrow, where I can get my fix. I honestly gotta say I hope they use some of these features from the DLC in their next game, like the Stop-Time Blink and your character speaking, I kinda like it.

Payday 2 as usual, I guess.
Beat Hotline Miami heist on Death Wish with some pubbies. Was good.

Terraria tonight. I bought it forever ago and kinda let it just sit there, like many games I buy on sale. It’s really fun tho, actually, I like it better than I did originally now that I’ve sat down and tried to figure things out.

Ever have one of those days when all you want to do is game?
Empty house and it’s raining outside, so I finished BM yet again and then started on Wolfenstein.

SOMA. I’m not exactly sure wtf is going on right now.

I may have also left a robot with a human mind to suffer an eternity of torture/pain. What have I done. ;_;

Armored Warfare Open Beta (head start)

Seems good so far. Nice latency for a US server (~215ms, only a little bit higher than what I normally get from the World of Tanks Asia server in Singapore).

Finished up my first playthrough in forever(last playthrough was back in like '08 or something when Gametap had Sam & Max as a Gametap Original) of Beyond Good & Evil just a few minutes ago.

The game honestly ages fairly well. The level design is just as good as I remembered it and it’s as charming to look at than ever! The only problem is the camera can be kinda wonky on the hovercraft though. Or sometimes just in general by today’s standards. Also the music is heavenly.

Still though, it reminds me again we may never see Beyond Good & Evil 2. Hopefully it hasn’t been lost to the ages at all. We got a Final Fantasy VII remake, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, The Last Guardian, and goddamn Shenmue III, but BGE2 is still nowhere to be seen. Come on Ancel, I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed it.

Also, FUCK THAT LAST BOSS. The final part of the battle is stupid.

Dead Space 2.

I hit 1k hours in Payday 2.

I don’t know how I feel about this.

Played the ending of MGSV last night. Time to do more side ops and finish the one mission I need to do with better equipment.
