What Game Did You Play Today?

I really need to get around to finishing Unreal 1. The AI in that game is frighteningly adept at stalking players through the whole level.

Funnily enough, on the last run we did where we finally made it to the next part of the mines, my friend was still alive (I wasn’t :frowning: )and he was nearing the end of the level when a skaarj dropped out of the ceiling on him and he killed it with almost no health, and then after he started running away it got back up and the only reason he didn’t die was because I frantically told him to watch out and he turned around in time.

I think the guy who made the Unreal AI (and the really good UT bots) is the same guy who made that bot for quake that would learn the level on its own as it (and you) play and wouldn’t need any kind of pre-set pathing whatsoever.

I may have discovered all there is to discover in FONV - even with the A World of Pain mod installed. Kind of upsetting, because my favorite thing to do in open-world games is strike out and explore. Maybe I’ll mod up FO3 and move back to that; I never really finished it out.

3 months have passed in my Skyrim save and I haven’t touched the Civil War yet. Only actual questlines I’m doing at the moment are Dawnguard and Gotta Beat Alduin.

I turned on spanish dialogue just to see what’s different and a decent amount of the actors do a better job than their english counterparts. Molag Bal and argonian males especially.

The lack of vocal variety throughout the game really gets me down in the dumps. Found a mod on nexus that plants like 160 new, fully voiced npcs into the world and that’s actually done wonders for my experience.

That and WarZones

Skyrim. I get bored of game way too easily. Right now I have about 50 hours logged in it and I’m already considering uninstalling it.

I only got 25 hours before I uninstalled it.

Only?

That’s pretty low compared to other people who play those types of games. At least I didn’t pay $60 for it.

It’s strange how at first I loved it as much as the other TES games but as I played more and more it got to the point where I haven’t even touched it again, or had any desire to, for a long time now.

I thought dragonborn was going to spark my interest again but they kinda just slipped out of my mind…and I still haven’t played it again.

I just installed Starcraft 2 and got the SC1 mod that remakes the SC1 Terran and Zerg campaigns in SC2. Looking forward to playing them as the story in the first game was really well done.

Also watched HOTS campaign videos and man, Tricia Helfer just plays Kerrigan in such a…boring way. Compared to the original SC1 VA, she has barely any emotion in even the parts where her CG counterpart is supposed to be showing a lot of it.

Doesn’t help that HOTS writing is worse then SC1/WoL either.

More Bioshock Infinite.

The game is great, but the boss fights are starting to kick my ass. Also the plot is getting more and more surreal, which is to be expected I guess…

Speaking of Bioshock, I spent an hour yesterday trying to explain why Alyx and one more of these game girls are better than that Liz girl of Bioshock.

Honestly, I don’t think I convinced my mate.

Also, anyone knows why the other pick of mine was Tali?

Not beaten yet. So far, he didn’t give real proofs why Alyx and Tali should be beaten by that God-knows-what-sort-of girl.

He even brought up looks. I admit, cute-ish, but still doesn’t beat Alyx in my book.

Elizabeth can give you health kits/ammo/money, she generally always walks/runs as fast as you do, her character is more interesting/mysterious than any other game girl companion I’ve seen. I thought Alyx was great as well, but to be honest, Elizabeth is a better game companion.

She is more useful than Alyx in a practical sense but they can’t be compared in the context of personal qualities.

Alyx is usefull, but ok, maybe you have a point.

Now beat Tali.

Tali is in a league of her own. Alongside Liara.

Because they’re aliens, you see.

Got through the Agroprom Underground in SoC today. It’s so satisfying to be able to drop enemies in only 1-3 shots. Also it looked like the soldiers down there had already taken care of the bloodsucker for me thankfully.

Just got back from the shop… the first game I physically bought since 2004.
I now know how to spend the rainy weekend

Ugh, that cover is still horrible.

I thought all of the game covers were going to have the reversible fan-selected Songbird cover?

Freaking Peace Walker. I read Huey’s letter after the game’s already finished and it doesn’t give me the briefing file that goes along with it.
