What Game Did You Play Today?

Just finished the hotel level in T2X. Took me about as much time as Life of the Party, the level was pretty large and long. I didn’t play LotP on expert when I originally played Thief 2 though so if I had it probably would have been longer.

Played a bit of RE4 Ult Edition. I’m disappointed in how demanding it is, it’s optimized like crap, and kb/m play just doesn’t feel right at all (which is what I was hoping they did right this time 'round). On the other hand, the game itself is just as good as I remember, and a good portion of the HD textures are quite nice looking.

More FEAR 2. Played another mech section of the game. It was a lot tougher than the previous one, but still really fun.

I’m near the end of the game right now.

The last fight is brutally difficult, fair warning.

I beat both Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops: The Line today. I found both were absolutely wonderful games, particularly Max Payne. However, could anyone here clarify what in the fuck happened in the end of spec ops? I think I understand, but I got confused as hell haha

Also, that last fight in Max Payne 3 is a pain in the ass. I died too many times for comfort.

Got back into Dark Souls recently. Turns out when you’re the one swinging the big stick, enemies aren’t as tough as they seem.

I played the final boss battle and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Might have been because I wasn’t playing it at the hardest difficulty (it was set to medium).

How is FEAR 2: Reborn?

A step up in difficulty. There’s a sweet mech section right at the start, but there’s also a brief weapon-less bit that’s totally absurd on the higher difficulties. If you liked the base game you might like it too. But F.E.A.R. 3 is the one we all pretend doesn’t exist.

Alright. I liked playing FEAR 2 and I’ll definitely get Reborn when Steam is working properly.

I haven’t heard good things about FEAR 3, but I’ll play it anyway because I got all 3 of those FEAR games in a Humble Bundle several months ago. I’ll play FEAR 3 as soon as I’m done with Reborn.

I think the point of that game is that you pick it up, expecting a generic modern military shooter, and then it punches you in the metaphorical gut.

War is bad, m’kay?

Well that was short. Just played and finished FEAR 2: Reborn. I wish that it was longer like Perseus Mandate and Extraction Point. It was a good DLC though.

It was definitely a surprise, I’ll give it that.

I played GTA V today. I really like this game, it feels so open and free.

Just finished T2X. Now to move on to more fan missions.

Planetside 2.

Massive offesive with the TR and repelling a counter-attack by the NC. Fun stuff.

Just started playing FEAR 3. This game feels kind of different from the past 2 games. For example, instead of using health packs like the past FEAR games, your health recovers while in cover. That’s kind of disappointing as I’m used to the way the first 2 FEAR games played.

That aside, I think it’s a fine game so far.

Diablo 1 with the HD overhaul mod

Got a flail that steals 5% mana on strike which means I can regain my mana from killing enemies instead of potions, and a 3 layer belt that adds 4 mana regen per 5 seconds so I don’t have to worry about mana pots as much and I can do a ton of damage per hit using my skills more often instead of regular attacks.

Also found a shield that’s part of a set, high armor and 51% block chance

Tomb Raider. I hadn’t played much since I had gotten it (I think I was up to the bit where you’re finally outside on the cliff side).
Just finished the first tomb and then that bit where you’re sneaking around to avoid the hunters/murderers/whoevertheyare. That was pretty intense, and I’ve finally got a gun.

I didn’t know who the voice actress was, so I searched it. I’m still not 100% sold on the accent as I’ve said before, but I just found out it’s the woman who plays one of my favourite characters on Greys Anatomy (don’t judge me). So that made my day.

Out of curiosity, where were you playing? What base/continent?

Pretty sure he’s not on any European server, out of fear of the Shadows.

Speaking of which, I didn’t drop anybody from the cloak in a week. Time to fix that.

Also, while the nickname “Shadows” might suggest it’s an Infiltrator-only outfit… it’s not. The other day, two of us picked up a MAX/Engineer combo, emerged from the shadows to destroy a Sunderer and a Lightning, only to promptly disappear again, nothing suggesting to our presence… save for two destroyed vehicles and roughly half-dozen corpses.
